We can expect more injury-related layoffs from IPL-3 too involving players from all countries. Ultimately, IPL will benefit only the Bollywood idiots, blood-sucking corporate czars, and of course, Sharad Pawar and Lalit Modi and the cricket boards of other countries will soon realize it and stop buckling under BCCI pressure. If top stars from other nations boycott or give up their contracts, the IPL will be reduced to domestic tourney.
Maninder has hit the nail on its head. B. Arun was a one-test flop show and yet the BCCI had the temerity to appoint him as the NCA spin coach. The only reason behind this appointment can be his closeness to BCCI treasurer Srinivasan. As for top spinners, Narendra Hirwani was a much better spinner than the Bhajjis, Sojis or Kumbles. He just lost his way after a great start without proper nurturing and guidance.

I would rate Venkatapathi Raju, Narendra Hirwani and Rajesh Chauhan ahead of Bhajji. Bhajji is just enjoying his stint just because of lack of quality competition around specially in Offspin department.

Sensible statement but I still think the way batsmen handling spinners now and in past is a big different, I am not a great fan of Bhajji but he has won lot of matches for us. Venkatraghvan's career was very short same like Hirwani so it will be not fare for other spinners if we include his name on top 5.
The words of wisdom from garry Sobers questioning the way cricketers are paid to play for clubs is a warning to all test playing nations. The players will soon refuse to take national duties for playing gullu danda cricket that will take the class out of game.Modi has put commercial interest ahead of the very foundation of cricket & ICC will soon see players deserting national duties for club cricket. It is beyond comprehension as to why a budding cricketer who has not scored a cetury or taken 5 wickets is offered 50 lacs as signing money or pollard who can barely bowl at 100Kms & never scored century in 50 overs get 4.5 crores? This surely is a conspiracy hatched by modi in league with satta world to weaken 50 over & 5 day format & promote 20 overs that has highest betting posiibilities.
BCCI has so much money & power that they can Spin any of the other boards or ICC itself..so i suppose thats why they think no need for a spinner to spin on the field.....hehehehe
Even the odd spinners available are not encouraged. Eg Prgyan Ojha. He was bowling well and was dropped suddenly. Same is the case with Pawar. How can we build spinners. There are many in the country who should be encourged.
