let Mr.sachin complete his 50 test hundreds and 50 one day hundreds ...possible we can expect BCCI arranging tours with AUS, ENG and SA....till then they are doing all the right thing for sachin to score his hundreds against this team on batting friendly subcontinent pitches....let BCCI headed by "mumbai" cricket maaphia first "fullfil' sachin's ambitions...

ohh...idiot is here again...dada's "chela"..like him no game knowledge, only "gully cricketing" knowledge..
does yuvi deserve a place in test squad? he is neither in form nor he is fit nd he was never a good player in tests with an avg of just 35 outside india it decreases to just 22

No way. One side, Yuvi was thrown out of the side in a format he is good at (ODI) and the reasons were form and fitness. With no cricket being played now and the BCCI freezing county stints, it is obvious that Yuvi had no platform to work on anything. His showing in the test arena has never warranted a place for him. Picking him now is ridiculous. Goes to show the inconsitent selection policies of the BCCI that continue to haunt Indian cricket.
The BCCI must learn to groom people the right way. Yuvi is a case of talent gone wrong due lack of focus. There have also been many players picked before they were groomed enough - Parthiv, Ishant notable among them where these kids were pushed into international cricket after a season or two and then axed if they did not live up to the pressure and xpctations. Is nt there a need to first develop the skillsets to elevate one s cricket before he gets a look in ? No surprises that Yuvi keeps getting a look-in everytime some Zonal selector pushes his case - the BCCi has no plot or plan for the future but rather seeks to appease certain zones and sections of people who possibly have pushed Yuvraj's case when he does nt deserve it.
What the BCCi needs is not Yuvraj but a clear vision for the future - one that builds cricket at grass root levels, enriches the Ranji format and creates more players fit enough to go to the international arena. For now, maybe Badrinath might hv been better than an aloo-shaped Yuvi.

I am amazed to see your analysis and agree with your views.
This brings me to wonder, do we really lack people with commonsense in India and specailly in sports federations, or it is simply that the ones who have got brains are not there.
Not only BCCI but Shrikant is a misery figure and he has shown that the nonsense and immature analysis of the game on various channels (SPORTS) he had done in the past, was no FLUKE and he really have not done much than to playing STATE TAMILNADU agenda in most of the times. He failed to take tough decison and looked alomost BIASED.
Someone rightly put today in rediff, that for PUJARA to be able to knock the door, he has to eat IDALI DOSA in Tamilnadu if Shrikant has to choose a team.
Probably on this day, a SAINA NEHWAL or V ANAD deserve to get more space in rediff or in media than this BUNCH of jokers who run, play and earn shamelessly only with 8-10 countries in the world map. Just imagine 78 countries who play Badminton or 108 contires who play chess and not to forget >200 countries who play football. Does CRICKET and cricketers deserve to be talked this much. We do talk about them but everyone including me are really waste precious moments of our lives in doing so.

You are right, Vaibhav. Common sense is not so common and with the BCCI, it is always political appeasement over common sense and strategy. Nett result - players emerge in the horizon when not deserving to and some truly deserving ones left out for no fault but for lack of a "mentor" in the BCCI who will position the cause for selection.
Srikkanth is doing what goes with the job - play the game as it has been played before. What is needed at that position is guts and a clear plan for the future. More cricket academies to groom talent at the school/univ levels, more financial merit for state cricketers and better infrastructure. BCCI must put efforts in developing talent and giving them exposure. More India A tours, faster wickets to play and better physical conditioning. Rather, the BCCI talks about IPL bidding money with a smile in week 1 and claims mis-mgmt in week 4.
Simply, what is needed is a head at the helm that follows the mind and not the advice of the lobbying forces. I doubt if Srikkanth has that charisma and ability to pull off what it takes to lead the BCCI.

I think Indian cricket needs people with uncompromising courage along with vision and common sense. This will always make the players aware of their obligations to the game and to themselves. No one at present can even imagine including young blood as long as the "fab four" are there.Agree, they perform with some consistency, but that is why they are there. How does one know whether any youngster has it in him ? Long term planning is the need of the hour.

I always think in Test Team for India you should snatch a position for yourself..it should not be gifted to u considering fab four amy retire sometime etc... if u r better then any of the fab four at this point u r in the team otherwise not...and Sad to Indian Cricket we still don't have any one

Its all about class... if you have to put your money on a batsman (other then Sachin/Schewag/Dravid/Laxman/Gambhir) for Test Team whom u will....I will anyday go for Yuvi....He has Talent and class ..and at any point he can do something different....And yes may be that is what kept him in the Team.....
