TEAM INDIA OVERRIDES BUSINESS INTEREST CONSIDERATIONS
by damodaran mohan on Jun 26, 2010 05:23 PM

The FR'sees appear to be on a stronger wicket when they ask for fresh auction for all the players because the players contract were supposed to be only for 3yrs.BCCI should give in to their just demands especially when BCCI itself has inducted two new teams. But playing of 94 matches just because it makes more business sense cannot be accepted. Even if the FR'sees own the players, Team India has greater rights on them the than the individual Fr'sees. As such the players' fitness considerations for Team India overrides that of the FR'sees business considerations.Consequently the FR'sees must abide by the directives of BCCI in respect of the number of matches which the technical committee is expected to address judiciously keeping all the perspectives in mind. However the FR'sees are right that BCCI adding two new teams w/o proper thought or consultations was not right.By dividing the ten teams into two groups it should be still possible to limit the no. of matches keeping the 'Home & Away' matches concept.
