Congratulations to Indian team for winning the cup and ofcourse everyone should congraulate Nehra and Praveen Kumar. Now selection committee needs to look at the players who can help indian team during WC. Everyone knows Dinesh Karthik plays once in a bluemoon time. Ofcourse his averages will suggest that. His averages were 13 and 7 for last two years. Also his strike rate was very less and this is too bad in flat pitches. Selectors need to take more chances with cricketers like Uthappa Yousuf Pathan,Rayudu, S Tiwari,Dhawan who are good strikers of the ball. These players can easily replace Dinesh Karthik and Ashwin. All the countries are laughing at india whenever players like Karthik and Ashwin got selected. Providing the opportunities to Saurabh Tiwari, Rayudu, Uthappa, Dhawan, Pujara will help in getting quality cricketers. Already Dinesh got lot of opportunities and he scores once a while.

ur a n ashsole.. Ashwin played only 1 match so far . DK played 2 matches in this series with scores of 66 and 40 ..

Saurabh didn;t play a single match. Give him the opportunities and he will prove.Karthik average was 13.5 and 10 in last two years. Can you explain why? He had a very bad series before this cup and didn;t score a century.

Go adn ask Dhoni y he did not select Tiwari...that is not the work of Shrikanth
Nehra and Kumar bowled very well and didn;t gave the opporunity to Sri Lankan Batsman. Also they took wickets contineously and sri Lanka was down by 4 wickets by the time they reach 50. Apart from this, Jadeja batted well and also bowled well. However everyone needs to understand that Sri Lanka lost early wickets. Otherwise score 250 in this pitch was not a big score. As usual Lady luck favored Dhoni and Ofcourse Dhoni is also a very good captain. Now Selection committee need to think about WC 2011 and should groom the players. Hardly there are going to be another 20 ODIs between now and ODI. It is better to provide opportunities to Uthappa/Rayudu/ Dhawan in place of Karthik. I am not seeing Karthik as a long term prospect and he scores once in 20 matches. Also his strike rate was very poor and even in big scores also, it is still 70% only. Which is very poor considering these flat pitches. Also it is better to replace Ashwin with Yousuf pathan. Yousuf pathan can be deadly in indian pitches.

There is no big difference as the ball had movement in the air...............So any pace would have doen a good job.the decision to bat first was all teh difference
dhoni stated yesterday in pre-match interview. this time dhoni analysed it corectly. i feel jadeja was not doing anything worthwhile in the team. however, dhoni was damn right when he said jadeja was taken primarily as a batting allrdr. however, he has become a bowling allrdr, so the reverse is happening with him. (however, its partly a welcome change as far as his bowling is concerned) earlier, v had bowling allrdrs like ravi shastri, who after a while, forgot how to bowl n concentrated only on batng.
but now, jadeja needs to contribute with bat also. then only he can dream of a place in the xi. n today jadeja tried to prove himself n fulfil the trust that he got from capt.

You have taken the best example, Ravi Shastri. He used to come up in the batting order and practice defence, irrespective of the situation. The funniest part of his batting was that he used to come down the pitch a lot and then play defencive shot. Haven't seen any one doing that.
dhoni won 11 tourneys in last couple of years. out of that, in 7 tourneys, opponents were lanka. so dhoni has good percentage of winning of lanka. only that. nothing much.

in asia, there was nothing left for porki n forget abt bangla. so the rest 2 were ind n lanka. now after so many years gap, ind won the battle of 2.
Shrikanth made a right decision ignoring Yuvraj and also the right replacement for Sehwag.We need to stop depending upon Sachin (whatever great he is) as he tends to have a great senior who can decide when ,where to play.And when he plays a poor youth has to be sidelined.Now those who thought only Yuvraj and Sachin can play Shoaib Akthar or those who thought only Sachin can win us a cup , will have the right whip.Congrats to Karthik for raising to the occasion when a opener is injured
