Ravindra Jadeja is a liability to the team. It is a shame that the indian captain calls a bowler who leaks runs as a specialist bowler ! Just telling him to contrubute more with the bat will not work with him. Wonder what Jadeja has done to become Dhoni's blue-eyed boy ?
Anyday, Irfan Pathan is far ahead of Jadeja when it comes to contributing with the bat. He might leak runs, so what ? Even Zaheer & Nehra do so. Irfan can not only provide stability in the lower order but can also fill in the role of an opener (whenever Sehwag gets injured) with ease and end thus end the misery of Dinesh Kartik.

Dhoni is over confidence on Jadega. If you want allrounder why not you give chance to Irfan Pathan. But nobody backing Irfan Pathan.

If dhoni want allrounder then Irfan Pathan is better choice than jadega.
Jadja is capton stuff and dhooni knows that.Jadeja has leedership quality,he can bat,bole and keep wickets.Jadeja is a good feelder and a good capton.Jadeja played very well under capton azhar.
this time dhoni analysed it corectly. i feel jadeja is not doing anything worthwhile in the team. however, dhoni was damn right when he said jadeja was taken primarily as a batting allrdr. however, he has become a bowling allrdr, so the reverse is happening with him. (however, its partly a welcome change as far as his bowling is concerned) earlier, v had bowling allrdrs like ravi shastri, who after a while, forgot how to bowl n concentrated only on batng.
but now, jadeja needs to contribute with bat also. then only he can dream of a place in the xi.

I believe Ashwin don;t have any role in the team except sitting in the bench. Ditto with Karthik who at the peak form can score anywhere from 0 to 25. He is not a pure batsman and unforunately he came in to replace batsman. He failed miserably in 2010 and his average is close to 9.5 . I am not sure on Jadeja. He is a very good fielder and is bowling well. I agree that he needs to improve on with his batting. Ashwin can be replaced with Abhishek Nair whom I believe has the potential of becoming a very good allrounder. Jadeja can be given some rest and see if Yousuf pathan can utilize these opportunities. Because next world cup is in subcontinent and Yousuf pathan can play a big role.

moderator please disable Kumar . Becase he is giving wrong statistics by saying 9.5. This will definetly he is personal problem with tamil. He scored above 35 on last one year. If you are not disable then this moderator against tamil people. Iam from delhi. But still i proud to be indian

Indiancricket - You can look into the last few matches that Karthik Played. If you don;t know how to pull the statistics, then keep quiet. In between you don;t have to say you are from Delhi.

Hello sir. .What credentials do Abhishek Nayar ve to merit place in team?? Who said he s a quality allrounder.. His batting is very defensive and he has scored in dead indian pitches at strike rate of 40.. Bowlingwise, Kohli is a better bowler than him.. We dont ve any automatic choice replacements who are waiting in the wings.. May be Uthappa s better in short formats.. Other than him, none is strong enough to push for the place in national team.. And regarding Karthik, he is a filler and can score 30-40 runs easily in around 40-50 balls and see thru the new ball.. He ll build a platform for the middle order to capitalise on.. Thats enough from a fill in player..

Babran - Kohli's average is far better than Dinesh Karthik. Also Jadeja is a far better player than Ashwin. Ashwin can be replaced with Abhishek Nair or Yousuf pathan

Kohli scored all his runs in flat Indian tracks whereas karthik played in all kinds of conditions that too as opener in many innings and hence his avg dropped.. Dont compare Karthik with Kohli.. Kohli hasnt proved himself yet even in decent bowling tracks..

Kumar-just compare the matches they have played so far.When he has scored those runs and at what position they have scored those runs.karthik came as an opener and has more reponsibility than these guys who are coming in lower order.

First of all, Ashwin got selected because of not his talents but he is from Tamil Nadu. Even Zimbabwe smashed him heavily. Also Ashwin's records in cricinfo don;t look good. Abhishek Nair needs to be given the opportunties as he is a very genuine all rounder.

How many matches Ashwin has played so far?How many matches prasad,kumble and srinath failed to impress?Even Dravid failed to score in the intial matches and regain his position after some performances.So the same case for the new players also.Then why kohli,dinda & jadeja is still in the team after repeated failures???Ashwin is better than the above players.....

Did u see IPL or ve u seen domestic records of Ashwin?? Go n see the records of the players u ve mentioned as allrounders in the above list and the comeback dude.. Yusuf is nothing but a fluke who can score only in longon and midwkt.. In domestic matches we ve 120k pace bowlers and spinners who cant bowl bouncers and even if they try, it ll be long hop.. Initially when he came to team, bowlers were trying for yorkers to stop him and he was lucky to get some full balls to score off.. He failed really miserably in the internationals once the short pitch was found..
