Pakistan match will be battle of nerves: Gambhir
by raman govindan on Jun 17, 2010 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

we should treat pakistan in the cricket field with contempt. have a "chalthi kha naam ghadi". heaven is not going to fall if we fail. that attitude will make us play a natural game. just look at all the top crickteers at start of their career. they cared nothing and went into the game with full gusto. sine they had nothing to lose. only when they had succeeded, they started faultering.

@Sudhakar
Ishant has been given enough oppurtunities and he has not lived up to the promise that he showed in an Ind-aus series.
Wheras Gautam achieved No 1 position in batting ranking after playing well in numerous series

Fact is dhobi & all his close friends gambhir, raina, kohli, jadeja, pathan, yuvi etc are flat track bullies not capable of playing quality bowling & on lively track.
Only sachin, dravid, laxman, sehwag can bat on all types of pitches & against quality bowling.
Dhobi gang is good against Bangladesh, Zimbawe, kenya, SlK & depleted pakistan only.

@ Indian ..very sensible comment.
@sudhakar.. Gambhir is performing well for a while now and don't write him off for one or two failures and I don't think it is wrong to perform weaker teams . See what happen against Zimbabwe when everyone failed.

Pakistan as always unpredictable
by Senthil on Jun 17, 2010 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

Who ever win the Toss and bat first have a clear advantage.

Batting under the lights when New Ball is swinging is real tough for batsman.

Win the Toss and Bat First and score above 220 then the match is yours

Actually India is predictable. Nerve of the players is exhausted and drained before they emege on field by the over expectations of supporters, speeches by politicians and stone throwin on houses if the game goes other way. Our players are very very catious in playing certain countries in fear of so like a honour killing. Young nlads in their twnties far out from parent lap and glare should be made free on their will and capability, the result obviously will be better.

Do or die match for Pak.....
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 17, 2010 10:24 AM

Pakis can't hold pressure which was obvious against srilanka.
S.Akhtar alawys plays under pressure against India Asif is out of form. Only Butt is a threat. But I think it will be a easy match for India.

No battle of nerves in Indian sub-continent pitches.
by Ajay Dev Singh on Jun 17, 2010 10:10 AM

India sub-continent pitches never offer any battle of nerves. You win the toss, you win match or championship. In 90’s India prayed that Akram/Waqar/Ambrose/Walsh/Mcgrath/Donald/ Lara/Jayasurya should retire then they have some chance to prove their mettle. In between India missed 3 WC’s. In last decade we worshipped, that Mcgrath/Akram/Pollock/Gilchrist/Hayden/Waugh/Ponting/Kallis/Murli/Jayasurya/Flintoff should retire then they will perform. In between India missed 2 WC’s. 5 WC and donot learnt the lesson. It’s a perennial problem that we propose and other countries dispose. While all other team rises from the dust and build up the momentum. White/ Hussey/ Johnson/Steyn/ AB/ Morkels/ Clarke/ Collingwood/ Smith/Duminy had consolidated their success base. Indian team struggle to come closer to these upcoming star performers. The BCCI provides worst infrastructure to nurture the talents. Look at the young breed which make merry on Flat pitches and dances on any bouncier one. Coming back to pace battery, who also have step-brotherly treatment from spinners. They are at receiving ends when Kumble and Harbhajan many-a times opened the bowling attacks in dead Indian pitches.

indian is amongst the worst bowling unit
by sumit on Jun 17, 2010 09:59 AM  | Hide replies

dont talk fictiously the fact remains that the indian team (except sachin( god of cricket and the most spirited one), sehwag, gambhir, raina) lacks endurance and most importantly playing spirit means it feels so dull to watch them play they don't seem to be putting full efforts any time and get complacent very quickly , they do not have the hunting prowess and winning attitude like the aussies or south africans . No matter you lose or win but it should look like you tried desperately. eg. look at theindian team's dismal performance in recent past 7-8 months ago they looked dangerous but after 8-10 victories got so complacent that they moaned in front of a team like zimbabwe. and its not by fluke they performed pathetically in 20-20's wrld cup. Still they looked like they are superstars and were very happy going to pubs and clashing with others.

Its pity that a hardcore fan like me has become allergic to this team and has stopped watching indian cricket since 3-4 months bcse of its attitude and lack of spirited play.

aLL THIS HAS STARTED SINCE DHOBI IS CAPTAIN.
Dhongi is the most political, regional, manipulative & non performing player in history of Indina criket who ruined Indian cricket by cheap politics.
The way he give speech & do manipulation, we should not be surprised if he fight election from Bihar in future.

Pakistan team
by dkamle on Jun 17, 2010 09:44 AM  | Hide replies

Win against pak team will be based on what are terms they have with bookies.
Ind-Pak match, fixing price will be very high, very good oppurtunity for paki players to earn in tons. They are not going to miss this oppurtunity.
So if bookies say you've to loose by getting out within 100, they'll do that without even blinking.
Paki teams lacks integrity and brings about a bad name to entire sporting arena. IPL needs to be protected from them, otherwise it'll become a gambling den and will get ruined.I am worried about KKR, their owner is hell bent on taking paki players in plenty, cause he has emotional attachment with that country of his birth.
