Bring back rahul dravid
by dally on Jun 18, 2010 11:25 AM  | Hide replies

Bring back rahul dravid in ODI squad. I dont think rohit sharma, Virat Koli or Yuvi are capable of playing in the middle order. If we want to lift the WC include Dravid in the team. Please Dhoni and Srikanth think about dravid

whaat..!!!! that fellow with quality batting technic with flexibility to play at any batting order according to team needs...who can capable of building partnerships both while setting target and chasing it.....and who plays sensibly and responsibly for team india's victories.....no..no....deffinately not....what "bunch of jokers" still thinking is that a buch of "similar jokers" who can throw their bat far a while, get out and sit in the dressing room, then later...PARTY!!!!, ....no ability, no attitude, dhoni likes to play along with such "friends" and enjoys....team players, match winners are not "party animals".....

well said, Sunil. There is no place for greats like Dravid in this team..even in his sunset years he is far more capable and consistent than most of these suddenly wealthy IPL bred kids.

everyone knows what these "masters" and "blasters" did for team india during 2007 WC....they "back stabbed" true team player, selfless, committed cricketer rahul dravid, and made team exit the the WC....same dravid gave everything for team india during 2003 WC, kept wicket for 50 overs, played responsibly at different batting orders, finished most of the matches......when he asked sachin to play at responsible middle order position, he "backstabbed" dravid and team india.....groupism and self interests in batting order caused the debacle for team india in 2007 WC, not dravid's captainship.....remeber with young players, dravid's team won 16 consecutive 1 day matches....

a little correction: not 16 consecutive 1 day matches but 16 consecutive 1 day matches while batting second. the result when we batted 1st is another issue.

Play for "team needs"
by sunil k on Jun 16, 2010 12:19 PM  | Hide replies

sachin is more "interested" in opening the inningses and scoring his "personal hundreds" rather than playing for team needs......middle order batting is the most crucial position where things are going to make or brake for the team's victory in an international tourney....unfortunately sachin is reluctant to takeup this "challenge"....greig chappel "exposed "his inability to play for team needs....still he is reluctant to play at "crucial position....doesent want to commeout of his "comfort zone"...."rahul dravid" is the most "valuable " player who plays for team needs and takes responsibility on himself for india's victories...sachin should learn frm dravid on how to play for team needs rather than how to score his "own" runs which ended up being personal milestones rather than tounament victories......unfortunately sachin "failed" in this regard...still "dreaming"

Well said, the player who plays per the requirements at present is Suresh Raina. Sachin better retires before the odi wc will definitely take the team to the finals. If he wants he can support the team from the stands/pavillion.

Any team wins when ,, when openers give a solid start facing a new ball ...thats what sachin does...by the way who is stopping other guys in the team to come in the middle order and play heroic role...and win the matches...

o realy..!!! great discovery....with no real , capable , solid middle order batting line up....with 1 day cricket in favour of batsmen heavily, fielding restrictions in first 10 overs, it's not the difficult task to open an inningse in one dayers....unlike test matches....dont know who told u that without a proper middle order, solid begining will win the matches in one days...poor cricketing knowledge...partnership building , finishing the matches are the 2 most aspect in one dayers...all the teams get to a flying start in 1 dayers it's the middle overs that's quite tricky....that's where experience plays a major role..

Harare: A spirited Zimbabwe have humbled India twice in the recent tri-nation cricket series enroute to the final of the event and the International Cricket Council on Saturday praised the country for their notable improvement in performance.
ICC President David Morgan and Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat arrived here to meet with directors of Zimbabwe Cricket as part of their ongoing process of information sharing and during the meeting both of them lavished praise.
"We congratulate Zimbabwe on its improvements and successes for recent on-field performances. This is my third visit to Zimbabwe and I take great pleasure in the number of smiling faces around Zimbabwe Cricket. It is very comforting for the ICC to observe the improvement and success of the Zimbabwe team in recent months," Morgan said.
"It is also very good from an ICC perspective to see former players returning to the squad and also taking up support roles around the team. The recent results have been a good story for the Zimbabwe cricket team and the ICC is pleased to have played a part in that progress," he added.
The hosts had put up good performance in the series, also involving Sri Lanka, and entered the final, where they went down to the islanders by nine wickets, but the showing was enough to earn the ICC praise.
Morgan and Lorgat also discuss
