Afridi's batting
by sujay talathi on Jun 16, 2010 10:07 AM

While I saw Afridi bat last night...I recalled Sachin's innings at Chennai against Pakistan...only difference was that Pakistan bowling was far superior than current SL bowling. But, cannot take credit away from Afridi!!! Hats off to Malinga too...brilliant bowling..wish India gets one like Malinga.

1.How can Afridi left out S.Ajmal and I.Farhat?
2.New bowl should be given to M.Amir.

But one must appreciate that Afridi played a blinder of a innings that was superb to watch. When he gets going he really can get going. Mohd Amar is also a fine talent, needs to have more muscles to be fit for today's demanding cricket schedule. Their batting is somehow not as good as the ones they had in the 1970s or 1980s or 1990s, those were real good ones.

What a sight it was to watch the fattest thrown bowler Shoaib Ahktar huffing and puffing in a long run up. The guy still chucks and chucks well.

Malinga is not a throw bowler, only thing is that he has a sling action, Notice the wrist, it should not bend when the ball is delivered. If it is bent as Shoaib does, it is a throw.

I wanted Pakistan to win today not because i like their team but only for the fact that i'm hell bored with India vs Srilanka ties for the last two years..Again India vs Srilanka in finals will be a big disappointment.

for that 1 over.. yes we have forgotten.. have you forgotten how akhtar bowled sachin and dravid in the kolkata test. do not get me wrong but plz dont bring nationality into this. Akhtar, when in full flow, is a treat to watch and you can't deny it.

Yes, I can deny it. Who are you tell me what I can or cannot do ?
Akhtar is a chucker and a drug user. That's enough for me not to consider him a good bowler.

Charlie from Porkistan, be clear that your Shoaib Akhtar is a known chucker who chucks out and out. He will not be able to reproduce the same so called pace with a normal action. Look at the present case, he runs with a long run up when he hardly has the pace.

Military people are taught to be disciplined. Hence disciplined bowling is called Military medium.
