People want to see cricket to be played in Olympic. This Asiad is a best way to promote Cricket in these Multi-games competitions. If teams like India participates in these games it would be gr888 encouragement.

Why should we ask the BCCI in the first place
by Lewin Fernandes on Jun 03, 2010 08:14 AM

The Sports Ministry of India should direct players from the Indian Cricket Team to participate in The Asian Games willy nilly it gets permission from BCCI, because the BCCI has becoming bigger than the game nowadays. If these boys cannot play for country's honour, then they should not be called Team India when they play cricket tournaments, and BCCI should drop the letter "I" from their abbreviation. The Team should simply be called "BCC" which could then stand for "Boys Collecting Cash" or something like that. They should be told in no different terms, if you don't play for India, India does not want to associate with you. Win a medal for your country guys come on. Standing on that podium wearing a gold medal gives greater satisfaction than your nonsense tri-series involving Zimbabwe and Sri-Lanka fielding second-strength teams. Wake up INDIA!!! Show some respect.

BCCI money minded

I was a sincere cricket fan. Now I lost interest in cricket after IPLs (Modi's games) and watching their stunt in Asian Games. If BCCI is organizing cricket only for money not for own country's honour, then it's bitterly shameful. Better to watch some soaps in max / plus.

Right said Jagadeesan. Let's not watch cricket. This is the best step from all of us for BCCI. How come a minister heading the BCCI not interested in sending the Indian cricket team for Asian Games. As far as my knowledge is concerned India and Pakistan are the two countries who deliberately tried and appealed the Asian Games oragnizing committee to include the cricket in Asian Games. The same thing happend with Kabbadi and now India is getting Gold Medal in Kabbadi. If India once backed for inclusion of Cricket in Asian Games and now they have not enough time for it. This is ridiculous. Ok I agree they have busy schedule of New Zealand series by that time and they can't take their senior team for this. But yes they can choose an alternate team for this like India A or India B which can lead by let's say our veteran Ganguly or Yuvraj Singh or Raina or some good player. At least these three countries India, Pak and Srilanka are the good contendors for Medals. At least India could get one medal in Cricket and this could a national pride rather than winning a New Zealand Series.

But I know nothing can be done, because we the people of India deserves this kind of treatment and behaviours from our leaders and politicians who misleads us in all aspects. We have players like Dhoni and Harbhajan who did not attend the Presidential Ceremony for Padma Shri award and BCCI did not even bother to ask them a clarification for it. Then how we should expect a patriotic behaviour fro
