I think Surindar amarnath, Pravin Amre, Sourav Ganguly & Viru's debut 100 are best among all since all of them made out side subcontinent, against good pace bowling attack and tough batting condition and also came in the 1st inngs of the match.
Great Innings Suresh...You deserve teh spot in Team..However the report is wrong that Suresh is only second lefthander after Saurabh. Surender Amarnath was left handed player too...

In the above list, best of the lot are Lala Amarnath, G R Viswanath and Virender Sehwag. Lala was a fearless batsman, a good hooker of the ball.
Viswanath was a magnificent batsman, best of his time even ahead of Gavaskar and was rated by quicks of that time from Lillee to Roberts, Holding and Thommo as the best Indian batter they bowled to. He was a marvellous player of fast and spin bowling, a fast scorer who got centuries in test when India needed them most. In short, a delight to watch when in full flow.
Viru is as well know, a destroyer of bowlers, and no better sight to watch in the game when in full cry.
The way Suresh Raina bats, it can be easily said that he is future team leader of India team at all cricket events i.e t20, odi and tests. Wishing him the very best....
congrats to suresh raina but his 100 is vs avg SL bowling minus murli n malinga also wkt is flat no seam movement so he shd not b compared to greats let him make 100s in ENG,SA,AUS anyways agood start to his career

In the same ground, same team, same condition just a day early more experienced players like Dravid, Vijay & Laxman (not counting Shewag - on his own world) could not score century hence his century is marked. After all a century is a century, against who is hardly matter. all the best Suresh

congrats to raina i think he deserve this hundred because he wait for so period to play test cricket i think he is good combination of agreessive and well machuried cricketer
