Sehwag became only the third player to be dismissed on 99 in Tests -- the first two were Pakistan's Maqsood Ahmed against India at Lahore [ Images ] in January/February 1955 and New Zealand's [ Images ] John Wright [ Images ] against England [ Images ] at Christchurch in January 1992.

I think if I recall correctly Pankaj Roy was also dismissed at 99 against Australia in Delhi test in early sixties.

# Tendulkar's run-aggregate is the highest by any batsman against Sri Lanka. He has overtaken Mahela Jayawardene's [ Images ] tally of 1756 (ave.73.16) in 17 Tests

- If this is AGAINST Sri Lanka, how can Mahela Jayawardene be playing against Sri Lanka?
What is this supposed to mean?

Sachin is like old wine....
by Another Critic on Jul 29, 2010 07:55 AM  | Hide replies

He gets better and better. What a 2010 he is having...200 not out in a ODI, 96 plus average in tests, 48 hundreds in tests and 46 hundreds in ODIs. Sachin is getting better and better. Hope Sachin plays at least until he scores 50 hundreds each in Tests and ODIs. I don't really care what others say, records matter. Sachin is the best. There can be another Don Bradman but there can't be another Sachin Tendulkar...God has made this human being just for playing cricket.

Totally Agree..We can have another Bradman but not Sachin..He is the best ever..The expectation of 1 billion on his shoulder will always differentiate Bradman with Sachin..

SRT Bashers!!!
by Rick Shaw on Jul 29, 2010 07:36 AM  | Hide replies

- If he scores 100, you say its for records (as if it doesn't add to team total and doesn't save the team from another embrasement)
- If he gets out w/o getting 100, you call him irresponsible, not playing when team needs most (like he got criized for getting out at 85 in 1st test)
- If he doesn't get past 50, you call him a failure & ask for immediate retirement
- If the match is drawn, you say he doesn't score to win!!! (as if loosing a match is better than a draw!!)
- when Sehwag gets out at 99, you call it courageous/bold shot (when infect its irresponsible) but when SRT gets out even at 150 , we call him not leading from front.
- people call him selfish & changed style to prolong the career, as he is not as classy as he was in his prime!! (so waht, he is still better than all other Indian batsmen & has better strike rate than other batsman & desrves a place in the team based on current performance & not based on reputation)

These SRT bashers don't understand cricket!!!

Tendlya certainly plays for self and records and not for the team like the rest of the team members. He should be dropped and trained by Dhoni, Yuvraj, Gambhir etc to play for the the country rather than for himself.

Thanks Sachin, you give us happiness and Pride.I am 26 and grown with watching you achieving new heights every year. Yes I am being selfish, but It’s so unimaginable for me to watch cricket without you in the team. Probably I would say bye bye to cricket when u hang up your boots..
