Not Sachin!!

When Kapil was the leading wicket taker in the world, there was an argument which Indians used to level, to say that Kapil was the greatest bowler...
Which was, that he always had to toil in the flat sub continental batsmen friendly pitches, as opposed to aussie or West indies bowlers, who had helpful seaming fast tracks..
The same holds good now also..Sachin was able to score all those runs, because he had the advantage of flat , batsman friendly tracks..
while people like Lara and Ponting had to bat most of their lifes in adverse conditions..
and also see this..Lara scored close to 12000 runs in 137 test, while sachin had to play 167 tests for his 13.5 K!!!!
Sachin might be the best indian batsman in the current generation (Sehwag might overtake him any moment), but definitely not the best ever...either for India or for the world..

Sujith, its not just criket, the ODI records of Sachin will be intact for several years, may be decades... as to break them one not only need to have equal or better average but also his level of scoring rate, and ability to play ODIs for long duration. We have already seen many great batsmen opting out of this...

There is a lot difference to kapil wicket taking and now wicket taking. At that time, batsmen mentality is to play for draw. Now, runs are scored at 4 runs per over. so every chance that bowler will take wickets. Kapil is a geniune bowler with Imran, Botham,Hadlee , Marshall and co. As Bedi said Murali is a chuker.
He cannot win match for Srilanka in India. Then how can you say he is the best. Even that small kid saqlin did.

Oh yeah.. how analytical?? Sachin scored more overseas runs than Lara. And above all you should not look at the number of matches played, but the number of innings he has played. Sachin and lara reached the 10 runs mark playing the same number of innings.

Lara has played in more batsman friendly pitches the Sachin. Look the records he has made in Antigua and other batsman friendly pitches, and check the average of sachin overseas, it is better than his average in india. Sachin has scored runs everywhere, in Australia as well as in England. Whereas Lara's record in australia is pretty bad, and ponting's record in India and England is pathetic.. so just for the sake of pointing fingers at sachin you are saying some rubbish..

OK Mr.Einstein of Cricket ..Here is little help...First talk abt Kapil...Kapil was a Swing bowler..Swing has lot to do with weather, Air humidity, fingers, palm pressure techniques...So flat wickte is no excuse at all...The type of wkt matter more for spinners. Fast track helps more for bounce and rise...Kapil was not deadly bouncers or yorker either..He used them both lesshem comparatively less (Surprisingly he used slow delivery less too)
Now abt SRT He scored more centuries on foreign grounds..So whts the point saying he had adv of flat wkts more..?? He scored 21 tons in 74 home venues (3.52 per ton) and 26 in 94 foreign soils (3.62 per ton)...Apart from Stat, If you think Sehwag might overtake SRT any moment then we hav to redefine"Moment"
Nothing against Sehwag but SRT is in his own league..Don't even try to compare unless you want prove yourself stupid

Here comes one more, why can’t you digest that an Indian can be best in the world. Gets your facts right then speak. People can have exceptional period run 2-3 years (like Ponting), but being top of game for 20 years is something different. And don’t forget last decade World’s best bowlers have come from Australia only be it McGrath, Gillespie, Warne, Lee and so on. Sachin’s record against Australia is well known. So keep your mouth shut and feel privileged to watch Master at his work. We (cricket fans)are living dream, we are living in SACHIN ERA.

True test of Pointing has begun........!!!
by Veer on Jul 27, 2010 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

How can Pointing be ahead of Sachin?? Dude, compare their record in the last three years...its like sachin flying high and pointing still rolling on the ground. Pointing has a dreadful record in England. he is just half of what he was 3-4 years ago.. Now the same applies to pointing.... even if he scores run, it will be difficult foe Aussies to win...bcoz they now dont have a great team to win from any situation...now he has to take full burden of the team...the thing that sachin has been doing for the last two decades. Lets c now how this greatest man (Pointing) performs under pressure...

Good bowlers in the team always help batsmen of the team indirectly.. as they would contribute significantly even if the score is low. Conversely, having good bowlers in the side batsmen can play more freely and confidently ... we need to remember that Sachin never had luxury of Ponting in his career, who played with Mcgrath, Shanewarne, Brett Lee etc., As u said we need to see how Ponting performs without these great bowlers in the side...

Cant we take it this way?
When Lara and Sehwag played, other batsmen too were able to play and the team registered good scores to win.
But when Tendulkar played, others were not to play because of adverse conditions and so ended with low scores and finally lost.

he he what kind of a world poor sachin is living in.... any c.h.o.o.t.h.i.y.a (like our friend Manish) can come and demean his achievments.. just like that..!! No respect in his own country!! I think Sachin will have more respect if he moves to Australia... that country will respect his cricketing genuis eventhough he did not play for them!

Some Indians cannot digest greatness and can't stand to see someone achieving something. They have to say something abt it to demean it.. so that they can sleep peacefully..! Its the biggest shame of the country in addition to tonnes of other problems!!

Poor Sachin!!

Even if Sachin won worldcup next year, they will still blame him for scoring runs... something like - "Yeah! he batted well to get 1800 runs in the tournament, but jadeja took 2 tail enders wicket, which was crucial... sachin cannot claim that he won it... and more over, he did it late in his career.. and Ponting won the world cup twice"

No matter what Sachin does, some people still will have thorns p.r.i.c.k.i.n.g their a.s.s.e.s! A.s.s.h.o.l.e.s!
