BEGINING OF NEW ERA
by ANIL CELLY on Jul 26, 2010 03:12 PM

ONE MATCH WIN, AND THEY ARE ON CLOUD NINE, THEY ARE FAR BEHIND TO BE CALLED A PERFECT BUNCH OF CRICKTER,THEY NEED AT LEAST TWO YEARS TO PROVE THAT THEY CONSISTENT PERFORMERS,INDIA GAVE CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE TO BECOME NUMBER ONE TEAM, THEY TOOK TWO YEAR HARD PRACTICE AND PLANNING WAS THE KEY FACTOR,WAQAR IS TALKING CHILDISH BY SAYING THAT THEY ARE VERY STRICT AND THEIR DRESSING ROOM ATMOSPHERE IS VERY GOOD, IF THE PLAYERS DO WELL ON THE FIELD ONLY THEN THEY ARE REMEMBERD NOT FOR THE OFF THE FILELD ACTIVITIES.

They lost 13 consecutive tests against Australia and when they won 1 match, they have suddenly started boasting. These people always have this tendency to talk more than they are capable of.

So, whats the fault in it Mr. Raju?? If they lost 13 tests, that doesnt mean that they cant win the next 13 tests. Paks are the most talented team in Cricket world and any one having even little sense of cricket will agree. Its a young team and they will learn to win....Pak cricket has to be strong if world cricket needs to be healthy. Atleast, we Indians can enjoy a tough Indo-Pak match with equally strong teams....

Talented in what ? They havent produced a single decent Test batsman over the past decade. Their best batsman are Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal, just goes to show how poor their batting line up is.
Mohammad Amir is a good find but he is only still young.
They are also terribly inconsistent and erratic. But what annoys me most about Paki fans is their attitude. India has a infinitely better batting line up. They dont have a single batsman who is even half as good as VVS Laxman, let alone Dravid or Sachin. Yet you always find those losers deriding Indian team and rooting for them to lose.
They are always bitter and jealous about Indian cricket.

Raju, your comments are true about pakistan batting line up and agreed 100% that Indian batting line up is the best in the world at the moment. However, you must also agree that Indian bowlers are not half as good at Gul, let alone Amir and Asif. You're best bowler is Zak who is also half the time unfit to play.

Indians also root for Pakistan to lose. Lets be fair.

last decade saw Inzi Yousaf Younis! With likes of Saeed retiring! Followed by Wasim and Waqar! It takes a alot to rebuild. If India losses Dravid, Laxman and Tendu today i will see where India stands!
Tell me what india which express bowler India produced in the last decade?
Pak vs India stats tell what Pak has acheived, winning more tests in India and beating a team with the likes of Gangs, Tends, Shasts, Gavis and Amars with Kapils.
The recent rise of Team India does not mean India is some power, they still lost to Pakistan in IIC champ trophy!
Waqar is not boasting! He is just bucking up his boys!
Rest, Pak supremacy in cricket is evident by its players profile! English asst coach is Mushtaq Ahmed. Saqlian has coached them. Waqar had been a bowling consultant to Ausies, Wasim instructed Indian bowlers, Intikhab Alam coached Indian punjab side! Exponents of Reverse swing and inventers of Doosra Pakistan has alot to smile about. Presently they have the best bowling line up with 3 express bowlers rearing to get into the side that no one knows yet!

Not seven years! Pakistan took drastic measures, ousted even the likes of Shoaib! Sachin is just occupying a youngsters spot. Laxman and Dravid are playing since 1996. Indian batting has exposure. Pakistan is having trouble of less cricket! Still they are not taken lightly, but in India you just now remember last 3 years and forget the 80-90 and 2000 when Pak would thrash India everywhere with likes of Mohanty and Kuruvila's as strike bowlers.

Without taking away any credit of Indian Team being No.1 in ICC Test ranking, Let me say that Indian Team under Dhoni never faced likes of Donald, Warne, Mcgrath, Waqar, Wasim Akram, Ambrose, Vass (in prime form) etc, which Dhoni's predecessors like Ganguly and Azar had to face. I would like to see how the Team India under Dhoni performs in Test Cricket once Sachin, Rahul and Laxman retires (which in my opinion is likely to happen within a year or two)!

Exactly! A batting coach with no political aspirations is what pakistan need. In Indo-Pak the culture of favoritism ruins many things. Saeed is a good choice but before him Miandad comes. But him coaching the side is another issue since him being a maverick and taking no bullshit from the board makes him a weak candidate. If given all powers Miandad can help these guys alot.

Agreed, their bowling attack is of top quality. The three guys, Aamer, Asif and Gul are top class, all of whom can be among top ten in the world today. It is their reserves that they need to look into

Batting wise, they are a bit suspect, talent is there but temperament and ability to get results is suspect. Salman Butt is a world class bat, Imran Farhat is gutsy and among youngsters, Azhar Ali and Umar Akmal are promising. Time they give the boot to Shoaib Malik and take in some other player. Possibly someone like Inzamam or Javed or Anwar can be helpful

I agree with Waqar it may be the dawn of a new era, but it all depends on how they perform on a consistent basis match after match. May be a year or two we may know if it is really so.

For the game of cricket, it is vital that Pakistan like West Indies come thr and showcase their talents that they are so famous for. We can ill afford to lose these two teams to quirks of decline
