What a remarkable guy
by mohan on Jul 26, 2010 08:14 AM

Can anyone do this ??????????????????

The number of wickets is coincidental for him.
Look at the timing of retirement and the attitude to achievement. In one phrase, 'SUCCESS FOLLOWED HIM'.

Take a bow, Murali.

Murali the greatest
by TruthAndFact on Jul 25, 2010 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

You're the greatest spinner and also the greatest wicket taker ever...Only retards say other wise.

It shocked me when you appreciated that retarded tapir Kumble as Indias bowling coach, it shows your broad mindedness and respect to your contemporaries.

But..please try checking how Kumble bowled any one DVd should be enought. Postmaster Kumble calls himslef a leg spinner but he can hardly turned the ball through out his career.. He only bowled straight.,, Cannot believe he would teach youngsters on how to turn the ball

He was Nayan Mongias Nadir, when he forced Keepers to stand close to the stumps and bowled at full pace wrecking the careers of so many keepers..Overall Kumble is a dangerous option for a bowling coach.

Kumble has been one of the best bowlers India would have ever had. He is in the team of BSChandra, Bedi, SVenkatraghavan, Prasanna, perhaps Anil has been the best. It is pathetic comments you have written.

If there was no Kumble, India would have suffered many innings defeats like they did in the last test against Sri Lanka. He single handedly saved and won many matches for India in tests and ODIs.
Bhajji is useless against sub continent teams and we dont even have a club level second spinner.
In India, every moron is a critic and they dont know how to appreciate talent.

Its a simple fact, Kumble cannot turn the ball by any degree...If you both have a TV set and a DVD playyer, try getting the DVD of a match played by Kumble, and its easy to grasp...

His success came when Ajit Wadekar/Azhar combo created doctored wickets turning from the the second second session of the first day..Outside the doctored wickets he was rubbish.

All Kumble managed to do was bowl straight at stumps at a medium pace with a short run up and got his wickets. Thats all...

Bedi, Prasanna, Chadra and Venkat were genuine spinners..who can turn the ball even on a glass. Kumble a very limited bowler. Probably the most overrated bowler along with Walsh to be there in the 500 club

Many a times abroad Kumble was canned for lacking variety...All he did was bowl tight end to end...if not for doctored subcontinent tracks, he
would've been finished sooner.

Kumble == Flat track bully

Batsmen who found him out as a medium pacer thrashed him easily, but those who played him as a spinner lost their wickets. They try to figure out the turn when Kumble cannot turn and ended up getting foxed with the high bounce he generated with medium pace with his short run up.

Dont know why so much fuss is being made about that player. Creating pitches in favour of Kumble stagnated the Indian cricket and it took 10-14 more years - Tendulkar, Ganguly, John Wright struggled for 3 years to get the team out of the quick sand and enable the team to win in sporting wickets.

Let him be fast bowler, spinner or anyother. He took Wickets for India and was part of India's glorious victories. Hope u remember he took 10 Wickets in an innings. Only two players achieved this. No double kumble is a bowling legend. He wis the one of the few players who have never give up mind and played sincerely for India.

10 wickets! 4 of those were blatant assistance from the umpire. I've been watching Kumble from the Sharjah 91 series, he cannot spin the ball to save his life..

whatever it is he cannot get in to real greats of Indian cricket...only Gavaskar, Kapil and Tendulkar warrant a sport there. GR Vishwanath, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly probably in the second tier.

Kumble atbest would slip as last of second tier greats or probably in the third tier.

20-25 year olds who watched cricket and cheer without understanding the game would only boasts about his 619 wicket haul. As I repeat he is probably the most overrated bowler along with Walsh to cross the 500 barrier purely based on longetivity.

No clue why you are railing against Kumble. Kumble is a tall guy and has his own effective bowling style. He is easily the best Indian bowler ever, retired as captain with 619 wickets on his name. A terrific gentleman and trier.
Show respect to this great cricketer who bowled for India even with a bandaged jaw.

Both are criticized a lot inspite of great achievements (or is it because the people are jealous) but answer those criticism only with better performance.

Its great of his magnanimity to contribute his 50% earnings to charity. Has it benefited the real needy is a big question.

Yes, I agree. But I am of the belief that do something and even if a percentage of that reach the needy let it be rather than doing nothing. I am reminded of a cancer foundation in USA. It generates more than $250 million every year from donations and funding from federal resources. But almost 50% of them are spent on management including travelling of their staff all around the world preaching about cancer and stay costs of these people in five star hotels. Fine, at least 50% of the funds, close to $125 million reaches the needy for treatment of cancer and I am sure some thousands of patients would have benefitted. Murli also did for Tsunami affected people in Sri Lanka and spent lots of money to recreate their homes.

Murali - topic of discussion
by R Balasubramanian on Jul 25, 2010 05:54 PM

Yes Murali. You have achieved what you really did not expect. You are presently in Cloud 9. They say the Unexpected Always Happens and it has turned out to be true to you as saying.
Definitely its impossible but you made it possible with your grit and determination. You have proved Edison's wise saying - Achievement is 99 per cent Perspiration and one percent Inspiration.
You will be powered with commends and comments. Take all in lighter vein and keep cool and calm. Have a relaxed time with your family and rewind your past to keep you engaged in your profession though not involved directly.
God Bless and may many Muralidharan arise from Sri Lanka.

Balasubramanian
