Dilip Mahanty
Murli
by Dilip Mahanty on Jul 23, 2010 10:14 AM

This is a stupendous achievement not likely to be ever broken. He deserves every accolade given to him.
Can I request Rediff to eliminate personal, insulting comments that some readers exchange with each other. These take away from the seriousness or relevance of a topic discussed.
If Rediff feels that the popularity of its columns are judged by the number of comments posted(most responding to each others' insults) then it is doing its more discerning readers a great disservice.
A lot of readers contribute valuable discussion points regarding a particular topic but these get lost amongst a cacophony of meaningless tirade exchanged between some readers!

Murali's 800
by Arup Ghosh on Jul 22, 2010 11:03 PM  | Hide replies

Murali, you have undertaken lots of insult at the hands of aussies. Now you have given them the befitting reply. You have taken 800 wickets and the day before aussies are bundled out for a paltry 80 at the hands of pak. Wish you all the best at your home and I wish you to continue with your public work and prove yourself that you are best even there too!

Hi Anto, I dont agree this with you, Even Srinath retired so stylishly that after his reitrement Ganguly want him to play couple of more series, even though Srinath rejects that.

Murli undoubtedly the greatest spin bowler game has ever produced..An acheievement which no body can match in next 100 years atleast...but he will never be a bowling idle for a youngester because of his action which was always doubtful..Warne or Kumble hv lesser wickets than murli and played more matches than his had very clean action and will be admired and will remain role model for many many years.....
