"Although the current side made it seven wins in a row with a 150-run victory over Pakistan at Lord's last week, they do not have the same all-conquering aura as their predecessors"
humility is visible and a rational and decent comment.
if our side wins a match, we immediately raise the team to the highest pedastal and shower all the praises, gifts, prizes and national awards on them. first loss we condemn them to the dustbin.

Yes. I fully agree.
Champions take their wins and losses very seriously and work on improvement accordingly. On other hand Team India depends on luck, hit and trials and still too dependent on a few oldies who are on verge of retirement.
Australian cricket team success was all about combined team effort. After all which team wont do well all the time with players like Match referee, umpire, home conditions won't win consistently. They had very good umpire's on thier side such as Steve Bucknor, Ashoka De'silva etc and many match referees as well.

So, you mean to say that Australians won World cups in 1987(India), 1999(England), 2003(SA) and 2007(West Indies) with help of Steve Bucknor and Ashoka De Silva. Right?
Aussies are a great team still. They might not be invincible like before. But their apporach towards the game is great. The only other team which professionally at all times is Sri Lanka. Pakistan, West Indies and India are the 3 most unproffesional sides.
