CAN INDIA WIN THE LAST 2011 WC ?
by damodaran mohan on Jul 21, 2010 04:32 PM

Imran Khan can never be wrong on cricketing fundas.A very accurate foresight indeed on future of different form of cricket and how the players performance are affected by so many versions. No wonder he is still considered one of the best captains ever.Based on this analysis it can be safely concluded that perhaps the 2011, 50 overs WC is the last and in future only T20 WC will be played. So, India must put in all efforts and win it at all cost.

Who is Afridi
by Narahari K on Jul 21, 2010 05:25 AM

Afridi is not a big time test player. He was one of those sidelined cricketer of Pak. It is a shame that they dont have any better player to make a captain. He is the best among the pack of worst.

Why are there more viewership to IPL - it is because of the action packed in it, the intended audience are entertained. What more do you need.

Why was Imran playing one day matches and not opt only for test matches.... coz he was getting paid better and obviously more viewers. If you are a pure classic enthusiast better go and watch in your local ground you get better entertained, even better if you can play. If you are looking for action get hooked to IPL.

Cricket is evolving and need to evolve else it will die.

if it falls then so be it

If people don't watch them or not interested anymore then let it die a peaceful death. After all, it is a sport and we have killed lot of good old stuff so far and 'Test' will be added to the list.

Market knows the best......

20-20 way to go
by debater on Jul 21, 2010 12:16 AM

After 20-20, One-Day match is Boring and Test Match is Super boring.
Unfortunate but true. If people are complaining about 20-20 killing Test cricket they should not have allowed one-day internationals in the first place. In any game the shorter the format the more entertaining a sport will be as players play hard towards win.

The only realistic way to save test cricket is to reduce the number of tests played. While the idea sounds negative, it is the only way to preserve the sanctity of the longer version of the game, and at the same time - the interest would not die by way of overburdening of cricket. This would also help in preserving players fitness.

goodbye test cricket

Nobody in the world can save test cricket. It is impossible to anybody to keep it alive because nobody has any time to watch it for five days. If you want to save cricket give oxygen to T-20 only otherwise cricket as a game will be history only. Hence GOODBYE test cricket WELCOME t-20.
