rahul dravid is no more good player,youngsters like rohit sharma,raina need to play more of test cricket to improve their skills.why rahul is given chance,he is not returning to one day any way
The 3 day match that we had with Sri lanka BP 11 was intended to be a practice match for the visitors and a selection match for hosts, which were board president 11. But what the srilankan board did was vague, they filled most of the team with players almost certain for the test side and gave a practice to them all. From their prospective they never pushed for a result in this match, only concern they have is to bat as long as they can and leave Indians with as less time to bat as possible. On the other side when a visiting team is given to play against teams like Mumbai, Delhi and BP 11 in India, you give chance to young/talented gus a chance to compete against the visiting team. The young players not only try to make an impression, but also try to get a result in the match. Sri lankans on the other hand are never result oriented. The practice match has no purpose, its boaring to follow for the fans and boaring for the players to play. Sri lankans BP 11 could have forced a follw on and starated on a new day with a trget to get 10 wickets on final day. Instead they cooly batted it out. Next time Indians get to play a practice match in Lanka, they should fill the team with batsman and just bat all the 3 days, no need to have practice for bowlers.

SL is the worst place to play cricket. It is not international standard at all. Low slow pitches, hot sticky conditions only suit the SL players. That is why even they come to india they fail. Murali has never been successful in India. Great batsman like J'wardane fail in India. Plus they have such a small mentality, just think of records.

When a opposition is down with deficit of 260 runs, and only last day of the game there, are you not killing the game before it ends, by not trying to get a result??
Just go with a pacer and three spinners, Ishant, Bhajji, Mishra, Ojha. Mithun is hardly threatening and the fourth bowler slot will be wasted by picking him.

Every one knows Pujara is far far better than Vijay Murali. But Srikanth wants to push his Tamil Nadu players. Everyone knows how scared Vijay Murali was with Fast Bowlers. I still remembered the way he was shivering while facing steyn and Co from South Africa. One bouncer stopped his heartbeat and Vijay was so keen on getting out. Also Vijay was failed miserably in last two tournaments. But still he is getting the chances and everyone knows why. Also it is unfortunate that Srikanth is giving opportunities to junk players like Dinesh karthik. Dinesh Karthik average is still low 20s even after playing 50 test matches. That too most of the matches are against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. God knows how he is going to perform with Quality bowlers. I believe this is the time, selection committee need to flush out players like Vijay, Ashwin and Dinesh Karthk. They need to look into quality players like Pujara, Rayudu, Rahane. They need to groom these players.

After reading numerous posts the last two days regarding Vijay I am amused. I agree that Vijay has proven a useless player at all levels (including IPL except for 1 or 2 innings there). Naturally he does not on (his own merit) warrant selection to Indian team. He is there only because of much worse players like Pujara, Raydu & Rahane that he gets selected.
Now coming to the point. I was hunting high and low for his score eagerly hoping to see a duck against it. But shockingly he has not played in this practice match and the "great" indian batsmen and bowlers were virtually bashed by a level to Sri Lankan team. Why are we so interested in Vijay when he is not even in the picture. After all we need some one to carry drinks - what does it matter whether it is Vijay or Raydu.
Please focus your energies more precisely and let aside your personal fancies.

You are not seeing the big picture. If Vijay is on international duty, Srikanth's son Anirudh gets to play more fisrt class cricket.
i would like to see cheteshwar pujara in place of dravid n rohit sharma in place of yuvraj in future tests aslo someone needed to replace the master blaster its very boring to see dravid n laxman bat these days

DHONI is waste body in terms of captaincy. He had well generated fantastic team by Saurav Ganguly..thats why INDIA won the T20 world cup during his captaincy. Because of SACHIN's influence he become the captain. DHONI don't have any brain to lead the INDIAN cricket team. He is good captain when the players (generated by others) are in good form. Otherwise he is big big zero. He can't enter into 2011 world cup semifinal. He don't have well generated team from himself. He don't have guts/capacity to do that. I don't understand why media is prising or highlighting DHONI this much..because they are the fools..don't have brain..
