Mc Grah, Shane Warne, Steave Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Mathhew Hayden was the strenth of Austrelia. This new team will take time to maintain the consistancy, infact Ricky may get retire before that. So it will be more difficult to maintain no 1 Position in test as well in one day. This is best chance for INDIA to grab both the positions because Indian Players have that potential.

I am a Die Hard Indian Fan, but I believe India Team dont deserve to be a No.1 in any Format. because in the Bowling everyone knows they are nothing, compare to Aus, Eng, SA and even Pakistan also has great bowling attack, and in the batting dept they are not consistent apart from injuries.

the countries you have mentioned above what have they done in the past couple of years that they should be called no. 1? as i have pointed out in one of my recent posts australian decline became since the monkeygate incident. since that test their performance in every format has been bad in comparison with their performance before that incident. we have defeated all the countries you mentioned above in recent past. so why do you think india is below all these countries? if you take the recent peformance of all these countries, australia lost in T20 final, they lost odi series to england and also T20 series to pak. england lost to us both in test and one day series the last time we played. we defeated pak in the recent asia cup. south africa didn't manage to win the test series in india and lost in onedayers. since the monkey gate incident aus has played 6 tests with us without winning any test and losing 3 tests.

akram, if you think our bowling is weak please check how many tests we have won since dhoni took over (incidentally in all these tests kumble is not there as after his retirement dhoni took over, and many think that kumble is the only good bowler for the past many years and all our wins were due to him.) according to quite a few people Dhoni is supposed to have one of the weakest indian bowling attacks ever but if you check the records you will find that these so called 'weak bowlers' (like harbhajan, zaheer, mishra, ozha, ishant, sreesanth) are responsible for dhoni’s enviable test record as a captain. These ‘weak bowlers’ are the reason that india has won something like 9-10 tests in the last 13-14 tests. These wins have come against countries like Australia, south Africa, England, srilanka, newzealand etc. and test is one format which cannot be won by weak bowlers. In all other formats like odi and T-20 it is possible to win on the strength of batting alone as we do not need to take all opposition wickets in these formats. But in tests one cannot win without taking all opposition wickets and we are no. 1 in this format with our so called ‘weak bowling attack’.

akram, you say you are a diehard indian fan, but still you believe india don't deserve to be no. 1 in any format? why? why you are saying indian bowlers are nothing? indian bowlers are good and they have done very well that is why india has been no. 1 in all formats in this decade at some point of time. if they are not good would they have really achieved no. 1 position in any format? who do yo think should be no. 1 if not india?

raj arora, what is your problem? Why are you not ready to give credit where it is due? why are you not ready to accept the truth? in all your posts you dont give any reasons or statistics for your argument. when you reply to others posts again you do not refute or attempt to refute their statements. all your posts consists of just one statement 'Aus is da best' that's it. have you ever written anything apart from that statement?

Afridi is captaining Pak in test, but he himself not played in test long time, so it is highly difficult to win Pak against Aus in the absence of Yunis & Yousuf, new guys in Pak all good for T20 & 1 day format of game, but not for tests
