CHETESHWARA PUJARA
by Soorya on Jul 10, 2010 01:01 PM  | Hide replies

CHETESHWARA PUJARA is top classed INDIAN batsman..He is having the ability to lead INDIAN team after MS DHONI. Good talented batsman from GUJARATH. ALL THE BEST to him. Instead of keeping Murali Vijay / Ravindra Jadeja in the team Indian selectors can give chances to the guys like CHETESHWARA PUJARA / SAURAV TIWARY / AMBATI RAYUDU / ROBIN UTTAPPA / BADRINATH etc.

Selection in India is always biased ! !
by chirag foryou on Jul 10, 2010 10:24 AM  | Hide replies

I believe and strongly feel that many of you will agree with me that our Indian selection committee is always biased from years and years

Look at the example of Pujara. His record in every form of game is much better than Rohit Sharma, Murli Vijay and Saurav Tiwary. They all already in team but technically sound player like Pujara has to wait and not only wait but still he needs to prove lot ! ! !

Is it amazing and only happen in our India !

pujara was a total flop in the recent ipl.. murali vijay scored a century and was amoung the top 5 batsmen. pujara though deserves a chance only if dravid, laxman, retire. sachin retiring will mean m.vijay or mukund getting the openers slot.

Mukund may be good but have not done enough as poojara have done.
Murli vijay is just bubble, not good against quality bowlers, please check his recent records. Only one century in IPL won't survive him long.

Pujara is very very talented in comarision of those

Thanking you

No Hurry
by super hero on Jul 10, 2010 03:54 AM  | Hide replies

Let him prove 2 more seasons.
Anyways Sachin,Dravid and Laxman will be around for three more years.Pujara can perform and present a strong case by then.

Till now he was good, but not so great as u guy think. He has only 1 triple century ar ranji level. Even rohit sharma has a triple and also twin centuries in ranji final.
So wat should selectors do? dump rohit, kohli and raina and select whoever perform good that year?
Agreed, all of the above players have negative points (but higlhy talented)
- rohit -Inconsistent
- kohli -Inconsistent
-Raina - Lack of solid technique
-vijay - Inconsistent(but solid techinique)

Wat is the guarnatee that pujara will perform?
remeber Karthik played very well in Eng tests but failed in India. It took 3 years for gambhir to reveal himself.
So let pujara pefrom consistently for 3 years and take the place authoritatively instead of warming the bench

if u r asking him to perform for 2 more years than y not the same criteria for selecting vijay, raina, rohit, tiwari???

rohit inconsistent ?? he has lack of quality batting against genuine pacers n short pitched deliveries. same with raina. cant say much abt kohli.
n abt vijay, no need to mention anything.

bcci bull sh---t
by vinay on Jul 09, 2010 10:33 PM

what bcci n selection comittee is doing is selecting some gully cktrs for their role in t20 ckt to play for longer versions like odi or even tests.
that way, its a loss to both the team n also the players being selected. they dont hv calibre to perform n pass the real test. dont rely on ipl or t20 performances.

pujara the strong contender
by vinay on Jul 09, 2010 10:14 PM

pujara shud hv been the strong contender for the team in selection. however, he is not even discussed in the meeting n all others r getting selected ahead of him, whosoever they may b, like raina, vijay, rohit, saha(!), karthik, jadeja, etc. which r merely fit for t20 versions only.

pujara has the temperament of playing long innings n has been scoring consistently not merely in dead ind pitches but even in overseas tour like eng having bowlers' paradise.

pujara
-the highest run getter in junior wc.
-the consistent performer in A tours.
-the highest run getter even in english conditions.
-scorer of many triple centuries at domestic level.
he is a perfect replacement for our seniors n shud b nourished under them in dressing room.

however, god knows what more he vl hv to do for selection.

Please replace Murali Vijay with Pujara
by sreenivasulu reddy on Jul 09, 2010 08:25 PM  | Hide replies

I believe it is better if selectors replace Vijay Murali with Pujara. Everyone knows Vijay is just B Grade batsman. He was completely clueless against South Africa Bowlers and that too in indian flat pitches. Everyone knows why he got selected to the team.
I believe it is better to give chances to high quality players like Pujara. He has been performing very consistently for a very very long time. Also he has the habit of going for long innings in lot of matches. See Cricinfo and you can see the amazing consistency that he has displayed so far.

true.
murli vijay lacks quality.
even raina n even rohit hv their weaknesses against quality bolrs n short pitched deliveries.

whereas pujara has been known to play for longer innings with so many triple centuries in his name. he already had one double n one single century apart from other useful 50s in eng tour.

I agree with you Vinay. Even Raina, Yuvraj etc are all not quality test players. They can be replaced with Dhawan or Rayudu or Rahane etc.

its unfortunate that Sriaknth is linking the regional feelings for selecting new players. Pujara was not selected just because he is not from Tamil Nadu or he didn;t represent Chennai Super Kings

Class players are rare and one is Pujara
by S SathishKumar on Jul 09, 2010 04:38 PM  | Hide replies

Hi after the 4 pillars of India I think Pujara is the next pillar to anchor India for a long time. Its high time he gets a change in test matches and gets good tips from the seniors and gets himself ready to take their places which is not too far away,

true. u r equating pujara as the next pillar to anchor ind.
but still even after such a stellar performance, he is not even discussed in the selection meeting, n other mediocre players r getting selected by hook or crook.
