that is what i said what's the use of this bcciteamindi when they can become no 1 team by bitting minows and not gr8 teams like SA,Aus,Pak,Srilanka convicingly or whitewash. they are better fit playing either with minows or gully team hahahaha

I only said that bangaldesh is minows and not gully team. but bcciteamindia can only become no 1 in test ranking by beating minows like bangaladesh hahahaha and fails miserably against SA,AUS,PAK and SRILANKA hahahaha

If a team can become #1 by beating Bangladesh and losing against SA, AUS, PAK and Sri Lanka, what is your problem? :)

youngsters get the chance by default. now against sa.
by vinay on Jan 27, 2010 11:28 PM  | Hide replies

at least, youngsters get the chance by default. now against sa. it wud hv been better that our youngsters got it against bangla but v failed in the oportunity wherein v lost our seniors like dravid laxman yuv to play against sa.

now is time to induct youngsters like
1) pujara the most prolific run scorer since he got man of the series in junior world cup.
2) pande the young lad showing good promise this season after his first ipl century.
3) badri the 'old horse' of domestic performers.

its also surprising that even the best of our bats found it difficult even to play short pitched deliveries bowled by bangla pacers.

agreed.
India has the best batting line up in the world. But, if u take 2 players out we donot hav an experiencedinternational) replacement. This tour of Bangladesh could have been a good oppurtunity to try new batsmen but, our old warriors didnt want to let go of this oppurtunity :)

But except the old warriors no one else scored runs anyway.. :)

I mean, when Sachin left in the second test, we were 421-3; from there to 544-8 wasn't a massively great effort....

Same story in the first test too...

Without the "old warriors" we would actually have struggled to win these very matches... :)

yes. correct. but, there werent any new faces either(the ones that should have been there).
Also, not all r to be rested :)
In teh second test the only new face was Vijay and he made 30 odd runs and he cannot b hanged for that one innings (i think he has done well in the previous nmatches he has played). If we r to go by one innings then Tendulkar also didnt trouble the scorers much in hte second innings of the first test :)

ind's so-called best bolr zaheer?
by vinay on Jan 27, 2010 11:27 PM  | Hide replies

ind's so-called best bolr zaheer.
surprisingly, its only first time, that he has taken 10 wkts in a match. that shows how good our best bolr is.
ind boling line up needs to b consistent in their performance for us to b no. 1 team.

viany;

There r atleast 4 specialst bowlers in a team. So, when a bolwer takes 10 wickets in a match does not it mean that the remaining bolwers r not performing that well. More ins
So, it can b that al lthe bowlers r equally good and that is why there r less instances of a bowler taking 10 wickets. More instances of one bowler dominating shows the inconsistancy in hte bowling line up of that country ;)

Not really.... there are two Australians right up there in the 5 per inning / 10 per match list.... they are a certain Warne and a certain McGrath....

By no means did that indicate that Australia's bowling was any inconsistent during their reign.... :)

So you ARE saying that Australia had a inconsitent bowling attack.... :)

Good... so NOW is our time to dominate world cricket for a decade or so, and have the 16 consecutive test wins etc., coz we too have an inconsitent bowling attack with us... :)

Zaheer may be our best bowler, but Vinay's point is valid.

Our bowling needs to be much better. Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar are also pace bowlers from the Subcontinent, but have taken far more 5 per innings and 10 per match hauls....

Which is what we are discussing here. India's quality bowling "to keep up our Test ranking". Not whether Zaheer is our best bowler..

Our own Kapil took many 5 wickets in a innings and 10 in a match, he also played most of the matches in India. Zaheer need to be consistent and keep fit, he always get injured and left out.

I am sure Zaheer is on track from that perspective... :)

takes a long time to get adjusted for bangla team
by wizardo id on Jan 27, 2010 10:22 PM

they have made an important start - the openers did well. but the rest of the team, just did not have the temperament, experience to handle the attack, gumption and will to hang around.

Bangladeshis lack talent, not just application. It will be decades before they can compete, as did most other nations like India.
Just their genetic makeup doesn't make for them to be champs or world beaters at any game.
