Yes, he was a very dangerous bowler. His 7/23 against India in the third test in 1975-76 is still considered the most deadly spell.
The reason why he is so cool is - read these lines - "He invited Indians to explore investment opportunities in New Zealand."
My friend in NZ told that they are no less racial as compared to Europeans.

he was the only bowler i remember ... who bowled closest to the stumps that his deliveries were nasty as they swung left and right from the straight position... He remainednon controversial thru out his cricketing career... great bowler and human...

yes gr8 bolr. i remember his outswingers. once his outswinger delivery went to the first slip fielder, as if it was a catch.
