laxman absence
by avinash rai on Jan 22, 2010 12:34 PM

VVS laxmans absence in the middle order will be felt in the next test. Sudeep Tyagi and Murali vijay are both good players and deserving another oppurtunity Mahendra singh Dhoni will be back the toss up will be between sreesanth and Tyagi. Dhoni will be back and kaarthik will be replaced is my view so Murali vijay who has performed well in both his outings will be in for laxman India will have to send either gambhir or vijay to open the innings. Amit Mishra is likely to be the night watchman. Do not ignore a performer like vijay. It will demoralise the young performer.Dinesh kaarthik is a great keeper and fielder and also a good batsman it will be difficult to select the 11 players.Even sreesanth is good it has put the team selectors is a quandry.

Laxman ,Dravid,Sachin kindly retire.Yuvraj when not in form kindly stay back at home.It is pathetic to see you try and perform with no form.

Yuvraj is waste in the team, you never know when he will click, most undependable player in the team. Now more concerned with money, advertisement etc. Throw him out immediately.

need someone stable and little faster than laxman, NO DHONI
by E darwin on Jan 22, 2010 12:25 AM  | Hide replies

need someone stable and little faster than laxman, NO DHONI,

because DHONI bring with him the package of crafty politics that slumped India at real places i.e World T20 and world 1 dayers.

ICC false ranking stats to keep india .. do no good for india XI.

DHONI, no way.

Real places???? T20 and ODIs do not test a cricketer as much as grueling test match. Dhoni is a wonderful player and captain. He is not replacing Laxman in anyways. Had Laxman been fit, he would have played anyways replacing Kartik. Now Kartik will get a game instead of Laxman. :)

credit to sehwag
by vinay on Jan 21, 2010 11:48 PM

credit for win goes to sehwag. he declared ind innings after giving target of 400. normally ind r not good in declaring innings. that robs us from clinching victories out of the dull draws.

it was good of sehwag to declare at the right time.

Laxman
by Govind Raj on Jan 21, 2010 10:09 PM

With due regards to Laxman the stylist and one of the most attractive batsmen of our times, I believe this injury will hasten his ouster from the Indian Team.

Ten stitches on the hand will take a long time to heal. Not only the Bangladesh second test, but he might miss both the tests against South Africa. After which it may be very long before India play test cricket again.

His replacement Murali Vijay is a guy who looks set to grab any chance given to him and cement his place. If Vijay does well in second tests and then against South Africa, Laxman will have a tough time coming back.

I hope he will prove me wrong, but India are facing a very happy situation where we have more than one replacement for every slot, but for Sehwag and Tendulkar. Murali Vijay has replaced Gambhir with elan. Manish Pande, Badrinath and a host of players are ready to pounce on a chance. Yuveraj Singh has to watch his weight and also his steps! There are half a dozen guys ready to step in the next time he falters.

TEST BENCH STRENGTH
by damodaran mohan on Jan 21, 2010 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

They should give chance to those stting in bench--MVijay,Sudip Tuagi and P Ojha. Also, they should continue with Amit Mishra who is gaining in confidence. They can play three spinners including Bhajji, two pacers and six batters.Sachin can also be rested.
