Why the heck?

... rahul dravid and vvs laxman needed for bangladesh series? Agreed, they are great batsman, but should't the likes of u-19 players like kohli, manish pandey, goswami etc be given the oppertunity here to establish themself for bigger opponents like australia and S.A.

guys u have to see the bigger picture to realize whats happening..

Goto icc test rank predictor tool and see..
India will get 6 points for a 1 test win and 7 points for a 2 test win...

If india wins the series, India is going to be No.1 for atleast year and a half from now..coz..Its getting very very hard for teams to beat India in tests...

Also look at other series, Aus gets one point if it wins 3-0 against pak..
So India will try to fire all guns when it comes to tests...Even though our ODI team looks good, the performance is on-off...

Best bet for BCCI is tests now..

Agreed, Players like Pujara, Badrinath, Rohit Sharma, Manish Pandey should have been in team in place of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman. I don't see Kohli, Raina as test player. Badri, Pujara and Rohit definitely has technique for test matches.

What do we need the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar to defeat the minnows. Its like sending machine guns and tanks to kill a poor fly.

Its was a good opportunity to prepare a second rung team that could find talents for the future.

It seems Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman had pressurized the board for this tour only to improve their personal records.

Sachin Tendulkar is a must for the team...even if he does not score well...the team always have the psychological advantage.....and why people keep on saying sachin play for records?? even if one plays for oneself(which is not the case) then indirectly also he is playing for the nation...sachin definitely took rest in the ODI series so youngsters could have a chance......and what was the result????? India lost the series...and indian test team is very different from the ODI team....also one cannot give chance to a T-20 performer like manish pandey in a test match...it is a good idea to try him in ODI rather than in test matches...

agarkar should be drafted immediately in the squad. his form his 2 gud to be ignored.. ! i guess if he keeps performing the way he did in the final ranji then i m sure we have a gud allround back up option. He will surely give a better balance to the one day side. Keeping the world cup in mind he should be drafted in the squad immediately.

no.....he is not the solution to indian bowling weekness....he is a spent force at international cricket ...cant bowl at test level effectively over a period of time...instead there aare quite a few outstanding performers at domestic level....vinay kumar and mithun the karnataka seamers who bowled exceptionaly well during current ranji championship must be considered immediately....agarkar is not the solution..

You idiots sachin is the god of cricket and and the idiots who critises him look at the just the performance of the dhobi and others in this conluding tri series.
without him this team has no future and sehwag with so much experience behing him played the short like he doent care about tem india but only himself.
with yuvraj just give him outside off ball and he has to slash its so hard like he is playing again in twenty twenty cricket.
so the team india i dont know where its heading with its dead less pitches.
and by long distance aussies are the true champions because they know how to win even in a situation which most teams just gives up and thats why even after those big guns gone they are still playing the best cricket.
and scahin and pointing are the real true greats of the game without any doubt and allthough i am dis appointed that pointing got the award for the best player of the decade but it is completely justified as the kind of form he has been from 2000 is reall awesome in both forms of great .
sachin did extremly well but because he had some massive injuries but he is still making the runs consistently that he is still india,s gem so pls guys before you talk shit about him think what he has done for cricket and treasure what he has given to the nation i.e lots of goods memories and heaps of happiness.

Cricketers do not play for country, but for the sponsors whose products they endorse. Cricket has nothing to do with country, its a pure entertainment, just like movies or Soap operas on the TV. And cricketers are just like the film stars eg AB, SRK, Salman Khan, Amir Khan, Ritik etc.

Sachin has an amazing opportunity to improve his century record

And of course win a few more commercial contracts based on that. And not to mention add a few thousand more of philistine fans who follow celebrities without applying brains on what the real accomplishment is? The fact will firmly remain that Sachin has never and will never be a match winner for India. He will of course end up as the greatest run scorer, 90% of which will come from tracks such as this one being prepared in bangladesh... what a pity?

Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman should be rested and new players given a chance against teams such as Bangladesh. Tendulkar only wants to score more centuries against weak teams and on batting wickets to improve his records.

tendulkar should play against bangladesh and pile up centuries as much as possible because are not playing that much of test in next 12 months. Ponting is nearing him and centuries from tendulkar will take ponting that much harder to break the record. after all records are always cherishable.

Haven't we heard this before. Why don't we have bowling friendly pitches. This will make the matches more interesting. it will surely test the batsmen. And most importantly our Indian bowlers need such wickets to pep them up. If India needs to beat Bangladesh comprehensively then our bowlers need to perform.

Sachin can score another century but panel and public recognises he is not a winner for his team.
Poor sachin though he scored more for self, he is not recognised by any media, panel members and genuine ex-player and commentators ?
