Dhoni's Post Match Referral
by vishwanathan sridharan on Jan 15, 2010 10:05 AM

It is quite astonishing comments like our batsman failed in the finals. I personally feel it was Dhoni's blunder to pick outof form/frequently injured players like Yuvraj Singh, Nehra in the team. Why Dinesh Karthik was not picked for the final? Why Pravin Kumar is not in the team? I do not understand why players who have consistently proved themselves are ignored & players who on a particular day won matches are picked. I personally feel that apart from Sachin Tendulkar Rahul Dravid also should be picked for one dayers rather world cup to keep the middle order strong.

It could be Hillarious
by Kanu Singh on Jan 14, 2010 10:27 PM  | Hide replies

If both teams are pressured by opposing bookies to loose the match.

It could set the new standards for morality and player ethics in cricket.

For example batsmen played shot in the air, the fielder at the boundary, instead of catching it, deliberately let the bowl bounce of from his hands for six.

The batsman walk off because he thinks fielder catch the ball and then throw it up in the air for celebration. But the fielder who dropped the catch, run to meet the batsman while he was walking off the field and keep persuading him that it was a six, he did not catch the ball, so he got to keep batting.

Next ball hit the stumps, wicketkeeper rather than celebrating a wicket, immediately tells the umpire that his gloves hit the stumps first, so the batsman cannot be out.

Finally the batsman is agitated he got to find a believable way to get out, so he deliberately swing his bat at the stumps while playing the shot, most of the opposition player start celebrating but then the captain come to umpire and tell him that it’s a dead ball, one of his fielder was out of the play field and giving autograph.

It could be mental twister for players and viewers if both teams try their hardest possible to loose.

Umpire explains the Captain that one fielder less is not no ball, so finally we have one wicket down.

To make sure next wicket donât fall so easily, fielding captain got to make sure that 12th man is standing inside the boundary rope and chatting with the boundary fielder, Umpire have to give that no-ball.

BCCI team & reactive fans
by LG on Jan 14, 2010 01:50 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI team lost yet another final. Who are most-disappointed people? Players or reactive fans

Well, from what I could see on TV Dhobi, Kholi, and Zaheer were laughing at the presentation ceremony. There was no sign of remorse on their faces.

Most disappointed people are the reactive fans only--who react to day to day situation instead of accepting the reality that players like Dhobi, Zaheer, UV are hyped for their success at flat pitches of India and that too against week bowling.

BUt, BCCI know how to make fool of these reactive fans.

BCCI knows that a win against Bangaldesh in test might be enough for these stupid fans. If not, then they will arrange a bilateral ODI serie against some week teams in India on flat pitches.

Things will be Rossy again--media & reactive fans will again start hyping BCCI as team #1 and Dhobi as the greatest captain in the world; and will forget all the pain they are going through now after yesterday's loss in final.

Some people say tendulkar is not a match winner.Where are they??.India won common wealth bank series in australia and compaq cup triangular series in srilanka only because of batting maestro.Dont you think sachin's significance in these tournaments.

Paul:

Good. Now you can add our Chief Excuse Officer Dhoni to that "failure" list.... :)

And Raina's useless 106 should also go down as "playing for personal records" because we didn't win the match at the end of the day... :)
Right? ;-)

One side of the Coin

Don't you think it is one side of the coin because Dhoni has not won a single toss for the last 5 ODI. Has Dhoni checked both side of the coin, out of 5 alteast there should be once he should won the toss. What is the reason behind the toss. Dhoni kindly verify the same.

GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Jan 14, 2010 12:43 PM  | Hide replies

We blame the bowlers or the batsmen or the feiding , this seems to be a regular ritual after every defeat.
What we lack is a consistent performance which is not forthcoming from most of the players .
No one can say with confidence that this batsmen will make a fifty or more in X out of Y matches . Something which we can say confidently with Sachin or Dravid .
The bowlers are unplayable in pitch aided consitions but not on all surface some thinglike 70s wI or 90s Aus team .
Why create such pitches and then support their non performance .
With the type of money and attitude of players one day matches have become a boring affairs .
We have so much time to waste we always wil have TV viewers and sponsors.
Finally it is a question of time when the public will lose interest and then may be so callled administrators will think what next ?

20 -30 runs short
by Wonder Fool on Jan 14, 2010 12:41 PM

We had lost half the side & also the game in first 10-12 overs. It was 60/5. Shouldnot expect much after that. Raina's century was only a bonus but could not be match winning.
