Idea Cup Final
by vishwanathan sridharan on Jan 14, 2010 09:47 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni was overconfident rather stupidity to drop inform Dinesh Karthik & keeping Yuvraj Singh(out of form player) in the Team. Secondly, when Virendra Sewhag a handy offspinner, the Captain did not use him. If Dhoni thinks that yesterday's score was very less to defend it cannot be agreed rather his confidence level was toolow. In the past, even without this kind of bowling line-up India have defended less totals & even won matche(s).

Absolutely right bro..... Yuvraj is just the same character as of Harman Baweja of VIctory.... The success has gone to his head, he is a consistent failure.... Make him sit for sometime so that he comes in his senses.... Nothing is indespensible Yuvraj, if you think ur place if reserved in the final Team then think twice....

MATCH OBJECTIVE
by Aam Admi on Jan 14, 2010 09:45 AM

Players in different countries play with with different objectives in their mind. While in other countries like Sri Lanka, Australia players play with the objective of winning the match, Indians play with the objective retaining their places in the team. It is for this reason that it never matters whether India is playing in the league match or they are playing the finals. Players play individual games and their best effort is to make sure that their place is secure. Once Gambhir, Yuvraj, and now Virat Kohli that their position in the squad is secure, their best effort is to remain in the field for minimum time. If the players know that there is a threat to their continuance in the team, in case they play irresponsibly, they will start performing. Also, like in Pakistan, if the players are aware that they will be investigated if they loose an important match, their performance will automatically improve.

missing factor- Sachin
by ANIL SINGH on Jan 14, 2010 09:24 AM  | Hide replies

Anybody can bullshit anything but the team was missing Stablizingh influence of SRT. In most of the matches we lost 3 or more wicket for less than 100. If Sachin go early also Gambir takes the responsibility. But without Sachin, lose of Gambhir early exposes batting line up fragility

Whenevr I feel confident that my team has became real champion like Aussies and have the capability of winning WC - 2011....

Then it happens and I forced to ponder that has my team really started to play like a champion, have they really passion to win and hunger for Nation and its fans pride.

We would do fair in the WC.. no doubt, but only in the league matches.... Do you think with the likes of Yuvraj we can ever think of winning the cup?

by Nirkos on Jan 14, 2010 08:51 AM  | Hide replies

Now a days ... so much cricket .. very substandard .. and boring .. we never ever able to get that killing instinct ... which use to be there .. 15 / 20 years back ... mainly .. there is no ultra fast bowlers ... all are mediocre ... no donald , ambrose , walsh ..Imran, wasim , waqar .. srinath , Mcgrath .. no reverse swing ... no late/ side swing... NO SWINGING YORKERS ... its all batsman game most of time... very boring .. substandard cricket ... I think golden age of great cricketers is over ... now only left with mediocre cricketers ..

u can also include your grandpa.. best line up means the best eleven players for the team, not all the substitutes included in alternatives

Most teams laugh at India
by Zinda Dil on Jan 14, 2010 08:38 AM  | Hide replies

All the teams in the world laugh at team India. They know that Indian team wins all the useless matches, loses all the important matches. Didn't team India defeat Sri Lanka so badly recently? So what happened in the finals?

ZD:

And to your point, ALL the current teams are equally inconsistent....

So you see a World #2 test side South Africa not winning a single test against a lowly England (in fact, losing one). So you see a #1 test side Australia (less than a year back) sliding to #4 and now clawing its way back to #3.
So you see Pakistan losing a test after absolutely commanding it for 3 days.

Which tells us that ALL are inconsitent. So all laugh at each other and enjoy life. :)

Good that you bring out this comic side of life. Thanks for that. :)

Good point. Fixed matches always produce unpredictable results.
BTW our team is at #1 in tests currently.
So we should not protest against match fixing just yet...

Now BCCI
by LG on Jan 14, 2010 06:47 AM  | Hide replies

has to arrange a bilateral series with some weak teams in India, not outside to make fans forget this defeat in final.

Our cricket team is not a Team-India, but a team BCCI. Do you remember, BCCI was opposed to players wearing Indian flags.Only Sachin & Sehwag wear India Flags while playing.

Players like Dhobi, Kholi, Zaheer were lauhing after the defeat in the final. Which clearly shows that they hardly care about losing. Such is the pathetic situation in BCCI team.

of course they don't care.....why should they care? it is not as important to them. They call Dhoni Mr. Cool.....I can be Mr. Cool too if I didn't care about winning...

Why was praveen dropped in the first place? he is someone who is reliable with both bat and ball. Im sure he would have done better than sreesanth.

if you drop batsman like jayawerdene when 47 needed of 10 overs and 5 wickets in hand you cannot win. indian fielding is biggest problem. bowler are as good as fielder. aussie bowler may be bit more better than indian but because of high stanrdard of fielding they appear more competent.
