Good fielding??

I do not agree with Mr Dhoni when he said this was the best fielding effort he has seen for last one year. The ground fileding was still pathetic yesterday except for a couple of good catches by Yuvraj and Gambhir. However Yuvraj's ground fielding was miserable as he was very lethargic on the field. He hardly runs two steps when ball is racing past him never attempting to chase or stop the ball. Young Tyagi was even more lazy. His run up to the wicket was more like a spinner than a pacer. He was very poor fielder at outfield.

In India today we have Kohli, Raina and Jadeja are the only ones who fields rest of them are moving like 40 plus aged. Running between the wickets is also very poor for Indians. I feel Indians should learn fielding and running between wickets from Australians if not anything else.

sheer inertia of being rich by doing ads. most old crickters are spoilt by success. i wish all the players were too dumb to be featured in ads. that way they wont be carried away by success.

where is Mishra's contribution Mr. Dhoni?
by saurabh bhardwaj on Jan 11, 2010 09:56 AM  | Hide replies

Why does he purposely forgets to mention the only leg spinner in the team. His 3 wickets were also a worth mention!!!
Food for thought for Mr. Dhoni, even the makeshift fillers in the team also needs a word of praise. He praised the part timers Yuvraj and Jadeja in the last match against Bangladesh but forgets his Front line main spinner in this one!!

i watched the interview and he missed mishra... sivaramakrishnan reminded him of mishra and then he added mishra did a good job but the credit goes to pace bowlers who set up the victory ..... rediff has reported correctly

Dont be comlacent

It is indeed a morale boosting victory for india over lanka yesterday and Dhoni is quite right in crediting the fast bowlers for their performance. However, let us take this victory with a word of caution of not getting complacent as it is only a league match and the final is still to be played. Lanka would definitely come back hard at us and we should not repeat our old bad habit of choking in the finals. I would only hope that dhoni's men would remember this and give a winning start to INDIA in the new year. GO INDIA GO. ALL THE BEST
