LG, Yesterday u were backing Nehra and Ishant. U also stated that I might hav my opinion based on their performances in flat pitches. Do u really think that Ishant needs some more time to be groomed. I dnt think that he is not used properly by his captain. I suggest him a break and to partcipate in more matches. He is too relaxed. Ashish nehra, To an extent I agree that he is a good bowler. His performances sometimes help us when team needs.
what u say?

Buster bunny,

Yes, I think Ishant should be some more chances but with proper support.
When I said he was not handled well I meant that when he came he was used as strike bowlers--taking new ball--but at some point Dhoobhi started misusing him--that is not giving him new ball or using him as stock bowler in middle overs. As you also said, he might need good rest for the time being.

At least that is what was my observation.

As for Nehra, he is also talented but lack intensity at times--he was only blower in World cup 2003 final who bowled reasonable well, whereas Zaheer and J Sreenath (timid personality)had no clues against Aussies.

Pathetic state of world cricket
by LG on Jan 09, 2010 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

Cricket will soon lose its charm if it is allowed to run the way it is run at present.

One can not fool spectators for long. The way the quality of cricket is deteriorating, cricket fan will soon lose interest in it.

Who says Match Fixing is no more there in cricket--earlier it was done through players but now it is done by cricket boards, is well supported (behind the door) by ICC.

No wonder you see so many matches on flat pitches and meaningless bilateral or trilateral series among subcontinent teams--"you scrub my back and I will scrub yours" kind of mentality.

Cricket was much more interesting when a score of 250 was a challenging score in comparison to now when even a score over 300 is not safe.

It is a good opportunity

The next India Srilanka match is now inconsequential. India should try a new bowling combination-Tyagi, Dind and mishra in place of Zahir, Nehra and Srisanth. If Yuvraj can turn out to be the best bowler, Mishra may a little better than him.
