IPL 6 Pathetic state of world cricket
by LG on Jan 09, 2010 10:26 AM  | Hide replies

Will soon lose its charm. One can fool spectators for long. The way the quality of cricket is deteriorating, cricket fan will soon lose interest in it.

Who says Match Fixing is no more there in cricket--earlier it was done through players but now it is done by cricket boards, is well supported (behind the door) by ICC.

No wonder you see so many matches on flat pitches and meaningless bilateral or trilateral series among subcontinent teams--"you scrub my back and I will scrub yours" kind of mentality.

Cricket was much more interesting when a score of 250 was a challenging score in comparison to now when even a score over 300 is not safe.

siddle and his agent seem to have learnt that he wont be purchased by any ipl team...he is neither a quality guy and further a sheer failure against the medicore porkies and windies...instead of getting the tag of "unssold" he must have thought it is better to stay way and remain in good books of ozie selctors who are in trying to attempt to flop ipl

:)... If YOU know Siddle is a flop, the Oz selection board obviously will not know anything about it, eh? :)

BTW, your views on Ishant still playing in IPL? :)

20-20 is a Batsman's game.
by Manu Zach on Jan 09, 2010 06:20 AM  | Hide replies

There should not be any bowlers in 20-20. Bowling machines shall be used instead. Else the bowlers should be given more freedom like to bowl bouncers at will, eliminating the free hit rule etc..

Interesting:

It is really interesting to know when he made this decision. If decision is made before applying for then he is non applicant. If he is making same decision after applying then he is confused and scared to get low auction price. Comparing IPL with national duties is also indirect way to increase value of IPL. It is good to put example by accepting national duties ahead of IPL money. But it is pretty double standard behavior to compare IPL with national duties from economical perspective and then reject it. Also if IPL was EPL then with same situation answer of Aussie players would have been different.

If one applies for IPL = one is intelligent

If one does not apply for IPL = one is foolish

If one applies and withdraws = one is confused

:)

Never encountered logic on this forum till now, but yours tops all other previous attempts. :)

if one applies and gets good price then he continues even if national duties are ahead.
if one does not apply and chooses national duty then he is correct.
if one applies and then pulls back and especially he is an Aussie then surely he is not confident about what he was going to get and out of confusion pulls out. SWo this is logic.

One question Mr. Against India, are you from Chrimass Islands near Australia?

well if it is so then why Ponting was unhappy with 390K price? Considering fatigue and commitment it is not great price. Secondly if you remember last year few of Aussies in IPL auction were not even bought by IPL teams.

never said so my friend. Read carefuly, I mean to say it all depends what price is offered to particular player, which allows him to make decision on national duty or IPL. Simply good price offer makes them to put IPL ahead of national duty. Thats why timing of making decisionis crucial. If decision is made after applying, then how come all of sudden he realized about national duties. And if he has not applied then no need to discuss. Check oction of this year and find what price Aussie players are bought for? keep yourself updated before criticising others.

Test cricket is more interesting and entertaining.
by Bala on Jan 09, 2010 04:56 AM

Now adays test cricket is more interesting and entertaining. See Pak-Aus and Eng-SA matches. ODIs and T20s have become so boring to watch. Have you watched Aamer's and Daeyn's 140 km/hr outswingers? They can never bowl such beauties in T20 or ODI.

Probably the right Decision! IPL has no Quality!
by Talisman on Jan 09, 2010 03:27 AM  | Hide replies

IPL cricketers learn nothing! It is like paper money trading. You learn almost nothing!

They are weak and wont do the national team any good! Want examples! IPL Paper tigers Jadeja, Raina! These guys have done nothing of note in ranji matches for their states and won't stand a chance of doing anything good for the country - if they are asked to play for india in conditions foriegn to them!

Yet. when it comes to IPL, Raina is the most celeb. IPL cricketer and is even comapred with Haiden. Now, that must be a real joke!

Most believes Siddle is not good enough for IPL. Regardless whatever crap you think of IPL, IPL is recognized by the cricket isons around the world as one of the biggest event in the history of cricket..

By the way, Raina is very good and potential to be a great, so please move on

Some cricketers perform well when cheerleaders are around. Some (like Churchill Football team) perform well when airhostess are around.

Why for australian players r given so much of importance if u r having players with capb, like tyagi for SIDDLE, pujara for michael clark and d kartiks for haddins, just look at Ranji trophy u will find at least 3 to 4 of replacement for PONTING only...why makin Aus so much important?????

yes for sure, considering Gilly, Hedan, Symonds and others Clark, Haddin and remaining are moreover test cricketers. Also still they are not popular figures among Indians.

IF you rule out all foreign players and CHEER LEADERS, IPL will also become matches of INDIA A, B, C, D in which no body interetsed and great players start taking rest instead of playing their matches in A, B, C, D.... so the end result --CHARMLESS TOURNAMENT---
LEAVE ALL OF THEM ON THEIR OWN TO ENJOY THEIR CRICKET WITH HELL LOT OF MONEY.... rest sports survive on 300/- daily allowance in India.. Think abt that too....
Cricket brought only a single WC, Hocket brought so many WC and Olympic Golds, no body seems interested in that...
I know CHANGE is always for good, but such a change-- Is this so much fantastic for India--
Keep thinking and enjoy ur life...

Another thought-- POPULATION Killing India and Indians for now and onwards..... no respect for anybody ..... can say a torn society
