Ah! Dhoni we are challenging that your team can not more than 450 runs in one day match if you take this as callenge and your team got above 450 then only we can accept you as captain in this final against Sri Lanka

A lot depends on Ravindra Jadeja
by Nikhil Shah on Jan 10, 2010 09:39 AM

One of the biggest concerns for India in recent times is the possibility of chasing 300 in ODIs. India has played the last 25 ODIs in the sub-continent and RP Singh, Ishant and Praveen have struggled with ECO rates of 5.5 . Zaheer, Nehra and Harbhajan have proven ECO rates of 5.0 or less over the years, but the key is Ravindra Jadeja who bowls about 7.33 overs per match compared to Sehwag, Sachin, Yuvraj and any part-timers.

Zaheer Khan and Nehra bowl about 8.33 overs per match and are able to finish the quota most of the time. Jadeja has 7.33 overs which makes him close to a specialist but has an average of 50 in about 16 ODIs. Once he matures and bowls about 8.5 overs a match on the average he can make a bigger impact in the game since he can bow at an ECO rate of about 5.25 which is very good right now. Yusuf on the other hand has an ECO rate of 5.75 and bowls only 3-4 overs per match on the average. Hence Ravindra is more effective as a bowler.

ASHISH NEHRA
by gaurav manchanda on Jan 08, 2010 09:44 PM  | Hide replies

nehra used to bowl with economy rate of around 6.8 and take wickets in death overs (that too of tailenders).
he leaks 10 runs in every match thru his poor fielding. he throw away the opportunity of run-outs. he allow the opposition batsmen to convert risks singles into easy one. he also helped the opposition batsmen to make singles into doubles. on an average he drops a catch in every 2 matches.

if v add the runs he leaks through his poor fielding then his economy rate becomes around 7.7.

currently, most of the INDIAN players are not doing good fielding but v cant deny the fact that all of them have been good fielders in the past. in terms of fielding, u can say that INDIAN PLAYERS ARE OUT OF FORM.

but wat can u do with a player who has never field well throughout his career, i m talking about ASHISH NEHRA.

A dirty fish can spoil the whole lake (ek gandi machli poore talab ko ganda kar deti hai). this is wat nehra have done to indian team.

POOR BOWLING
by Ananthanarayana Nonavinakere on Jan 08, 2010 07:56 PM  | Hide replies

It is high time, selectors and Dhoni blood promising fast bowlers who have done well in the domestic circuit. Currently Vinay Kumar and A.Mukund have the highest wickets in Ranji trophy. Both of them have been ignored and Ishant Sharma recalled for the Bangladesh Tests. So much for wanting to have a young side.

wait ,so Ishanth Sharma at 20 is not young ? Now don't get me wrong, I personally believe that Ishanth should be dropped for few months till he gets his priorities and bearings right.
I do agree on one thing, its far easier to judge a quality of a bowler than a batsman on Indian tracks . If a bowler is consistantly doing well on Indian tracks he should do better in away tours

TIME TO TAKE ACTION

It's time for the team selection committee to look out these punch of jokers(bowlers) zaheer, nehra, ishant and harbhajan. These guys has proved they are useless in the past and the current series. It's true that the current indian team can't win a single match in the major tournaments like world cup and champions trophy. It's time to induct freshers in the team.
