history has little bearing... i think only the immediate performance should be taken in to account! Karnataka... have not let others take a 1st innings lead even once this season!!

karanataka will have uthappams (rounded ones) all over their scorecard...which dravid will eat after coming back from bangladesh test series...lol
The stupid thing is both teams didnt even go for an outright win thou they had a chance...so this Ranji trophy is becoming like...Get the First Innings lead and settle for a draw...

its not abt stopping some1. like karnatak didnt force follow on to up. n batted. even mumbai did the same thing.

true. its just batting paradise for batsman on home pitch. no skills for bowlers required. getting draws is sufficient.
i think even the final vl b a draw decided with first innings lead.

A friend and I were having the same discussion. Though i too hate the fact that the charm of test cricket is not there. A team can not make a come back and win. If not this, how will you ensure that there is a winner? And you cant actually have 5 days for the league matches... they need to fit the cash league too in the calendar!!! So Mangoe is right... who' stopping the teams to go for that 1st innings lead and also who is stopping them to quickly take 10 wickets in the 2nd innings?!!

Pavan, you are right but they had a huge lead of over 400 runs at the end of day 3. Ten they could have asked them to show courage to chase their target. 400 targets on day 4 is never an easy one but that would have made the match a bit interesting! Also, pitches here in India are just piece of crap. Hardly have they had anything in them for a pace bowler, that’s why India could never ever find a decent pacer who can bowl consistently at a speed of 150 . More besides, mentality of domestic teams is poor. They start the match thinking of getting a first inning lead; hence they bat cautiously and slowly. Right from the start spinners come to the attack! BCCI should send some of the talent to play in English, Australia or African cricket so that batsmen can gain some experience on playing on bouncy wickets and bowlers (pacer) too can have a sigh of relief!

You have not followed the progress of Karnatka matches. It has been the fast bowlers who have taken about 80% of the wickets. You just cant generalize the statement

So me foreseeing it to win is actually optimism not pessimism. So not just spelling/English... you need to go check your IQ too!!! And yeah typical bambai babu!!
