Its just getting ridiculous now
by vinu manijose on Jan 04, 2010 01:28 AM

I understand biases and partiality..But its all getting a little bit too much now...In the last three home series against Aus, SL and SA Nagpur has got to host two ODIs, one T20 and two tests? wtf??? Thats 13 days of action of 35 days of action in the three series combined. What about the rest of the country???
good pitch or not at the end of it Nagpurs just a pretty how small town.
I think the sugar fed BCCI prez doesnt want to totter beyond his hometown to watch a match.

Time to phase out Endulkar, Lakshman and Dravid
by statesman on Jan 03, 2010 09:44 PM  | Hide replies

Let the Bangladesh series be a so-called swan song for the above-mentioned trio, out of which the first mentioned plays only with an eye on the record books. Lakshman should have been given VRS a long time time ago - he just rides piggyback on others and scores a useless 50 or so in dead rubbers just to keep his spot. Same with Rahul Dravid who was in horrific form for over 2 years until the last home series against England on dead pitches.

I'd prefer any batsman who scores runs @ an average of 55 (approx) since it helps his team in putting up a big score, irrespective of whether he plays for records or not

yea right...phase out the three from tests and whos gonna win you matches? face it, if Indias the number one team in tests today its largely (id say at least 90% credit is due) due to these three plus ganguly and kumble.
I just want to see yuvraj, kohli, jadeja and the replacements stich together an innings like kolkata 2001 before starting to think of retiring sachin, dravid and laxman.

why chennai is not alotted any matches?
by vivek on Jan 03, 2010 09:42 PM  | Hide replies

I fail to understand why why chennai is not alotted any matches inspite of having very sporting pitch and sporting crowd.
This even after having person from tamilnadu has secretary as well as cheif selector !!!!.
Even by rotaion policy chennai should have been alotted some matches by now but always see delhi or mumbai getting some matches alotted in every series.

Very Few Tests
by S K on Jan 03, 2010 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

We are playing very few test matches. We should emulate Australia in this matter. Then only we will be able to hold on to our No. 1 status.
