Are these arrogant Englishmen THE DOUBLE SIDED SNAKES?
by Raj on Jan 02, 2010 04:05 AM

Atherton may say a soft remark about IPL but On the pitch these arrogant white decision making idiots (NOT the 3 IDIOTS!! lol) can just target and unfairly punish black and asian cricketers by penalising or deduction of match fees for no fair reasons - Cricket suffers from "ONE RULE FOR WHITES AND ANOTHER RULE FOR NON WHITES" - we must work hard to eradicate this prejudice even if it means BOYCOTTING England and Australian cricket to start with.It may short term mean loss of some revenue but it will teach Gora's hard lesson they deserve. Now go and immerse all the ASHES Mr Atherton - and I can think of no better place than river ganges to purify them!!

Where did he say that IPL failed to make an impact..

Read these line - Scoffed at by purists but wildly popular among fans, the Indian Premier League [ Images ] (IPL) has been rated by former England captain Michael Atherton as one of the 10 most significant events that changed the face of cricket last decade.

First read and then comment. Nowehere he has criticized IPL.

Atherton - typically English

English, Australians and Kiwis are all jealous of the IPL's success and the wealth it has created for the Indian Cricket.
All those western stiff upper lips were full of smirk till mid 90s, when they were dominating and dictating the Cricket. Now you find them quivering in jealousy when they are no longer the Masters and are just one among the equals - Her Majesty's subjects can't take it! Can they?

Every word Atherton says is true.

Also, his calling T20 a brash format is so apt and thats why we Indians like it.

The only region where Cricket fetches huge revenue is the Indian Subcontinent. The Indian team was not able to last the complete 50 overs, much less even win a game at all. So gradually 50 overs format had become less exciting for the Indian masses. The only way out was to change the format.

Cricket is now the game of Corporates and they dictate the game now. In other forms like Test Matches and ODI they do it indirectly, but in IPL they directly play cricket. Thats why Mallya, Shahrukh, Wadia,... are owning the teams and playing cricket on the field now.

Players like Dhoni, Tendulkar, Yuvraj,Sehwag, Gambhir, Harbhajan etc are nominees of these corporates who endorse their products.
