Other than abusing GORAs what has Gavaskar done
by Raman Shiva on Jan 02, 2010 11:03 PM  | Hide replies

I mean seriously?after his retirement till this day, other than praising Tendulkar every single day in every article or every commentary session, what has Gavaskar done to Indian cricket?
He complaining of Bias wasnt even worth responding i dont know why Broad even bothered to respond.
So is Gavaskar suggesting all umpires and match refrees are biased people that they mingle with Chris Broad?what nonsense, yea some bias might be there, but where isnt Bias?so is it fair to Say Rohan Gavaskar got chance to play for Team India cause he was Gavaskars son?
Is it fair to say Ravi Shastri wouldve never gotten so much chance if Gavaskar wasnt captain?

Its out of sheer jealousy towards Aussies who have won 4 wcups and dominated wcricket like no one ever has(not even windies won 4 wcups)that makes Gavaskar so jealous
And he takes it out on all GORAS cause he was not allowed in MCC once, give us a break Gavaskar and get over ur hatred and racist attitude towards goras
Tomorrow if CHris Broad or Stuart Broad say Sachin and Gavaskare the greatest cricketers India has produced and we r big fans of Sachin then Gavaskar will keep quiet.

HE HAS DONE NOTHING TO INDIAN CRICKET,he wasnt all that figther as a captain,he wanted only to draw matches and he tried to ruin Kapils career a lot and Gavaskar not only hates Goras he doesnt like many even in India
He didnt even want to play in Eden Gardens at one point as they verbally abused him in 1984 after Kapil was dropped...

Accusing all goras of being biased is as equal to assuming all Mumbaitees are like Raj Thackerey hating every other indian or all tamilians are like Veerapan.
So guys dont fall for this Gavaskars hate game that he plays over the past 2 decades since he retired.his hatred is deep rooted out of sheer jealousy and inferiority complex.
Not all goras are great, neither are they all bad...gavaskar lobby has only bad things to say about Ponting because they are jealous that Ponting has what Sachin dont have, that is 3 wcups medals(he was in team that won wcup in 1999,was captain in two wcup wins without losign a single game)
for those who judge Ponting on him claiming bump catches go watch dhoni claiming one in England ,its in utube..so remember no one is a saint in international cricket, gone are the days of Gundappa Viswanath...

Gavaskar has had run ins with fellow indians because of his huge ego..

Prime example are his run ins with Raj Singh Dungarpur a few years ago when they both accused each other of being worthless in their posts and Gavaskar offered to resign and insisted Raj Singh to do the same
His run ins with Kapil was causing so much rift in Team India that KAPIL V GAVASKAR was the worst fight between two super stars of one team..i dont remember any team have so much infighting than that, there were favorite players for both and every time each of them took over as captain their favorites would come to team India..
Kapil had Chetan Sharma,Shivlal Yadav,Ashok Malhotra etc
Gavaskar had his share like Ravi Shastri(who got established only cause of Gavaskar),Chetan Chauhan who didnt score a single century despite being a opener but had a decent career thanks to Gavaskars support
Krish Srikanth use to chamcha both Kapil and Gavaskar and benefited
Azhar was Kapils buddy and he returned the favor by keeping Kapil till he broke his world record

Once in Sharjah 1997 Azhar got runout Gavaskar in the commentary box lost his cool and said Azhar is playing as if hes having no tomorrow,Sachin was captain so Sunny couldnt control his anger as he felt Azhars irresponsible play is costing his dear Sachin his captaincy, for that remark Azhar gave it back to Sunny then they pacified

Gavaskar is a hot headed Hypocrite who wishes only his loved ones play the game.

Under the white skin father shadow
by Raj on Jan 02, 2010 04:16 AM

Its shameful to see that a disrespectful former player like Chris Broad has been given the role he so openly abuses against black and non white cricketers.
Of course Stuart the naughty lad of naughty father gets away without even a penalty for his mischiefs whereas ethnic players are blatantly targeted punitively by match suspension or match fees deduction - Cricket needs a wake up call - It may be a game invented by Englishmen - but those lazy idiots could not have invented it in their own country - Cricket remains the Indian birth right and we must give its future a fair and positive direction and not let it be a WHITE MAN's LEGACY. I support Gavaskar's comments.

Gavaskar
by Chandrashekhar Kulkarni on Jan 01, 2010 09:07 PM

People credit Ganguly with inducing fighting spirit in Indian team, but it actually is Gavaskar who lead Indian resistance to white domination of world cricket.

It was Gavaskar who showed to Indians that they can win a big tournament.

Since Gavskar's time, India's loosing streaks in test came down and there were more draws. The winning started when Tendulkar came onto the scene.

Since Tendulkar's entry, India has continuously improved on the performance.

All talks of most succesful captain and this & that is only because they had Sachin on their side.

Gavaskar remains my all time favourite. His stance itself showed he has solid game in him.

Gavaskar's Critics

I wonder why all Indians (supposedly) have started abusing Sunny for hitting bull's eye.

The fact that Sunny argued with umpire is very different from today's scenario, where if an Asian player even stands his ground out of disappointment is handed a ban or a fine, but players like Broad repeatedly go overboard but nothing is done.

Whether we like it or not, non-white players have always been prejudiced against, the latest case being Aus-WI match. I remember Irfan Pathan being handed a 2-ODI ban for pointing to the stands after getting a batsman out, although it was the first time that he did it, but Watson is let off.

Can any one point out any other team other than Australia whose bowlers repeatedly come in the way of batsmen taking singles, in fact almost blocking them ? In the recent Ind-Aus ODIs, the bowlers came in the way a total of 37 times (as pointed out by the commentators) out of which the one in which Siddle crossed the pitch to come in the way of Gambhir took the cake, but still they are let off.

Sunny calls a spade a spade, and there is no need to hound him for doing so, in fact, I am proud that one Indian has shown the guts to talk out against these white players.

What about his behaviour off the field? He inducted Ravi Shashtri who didn't have any record or performance to speak off. Sure the whites behave like saviours of the world but our behaviour is even worse. They don't seem to have any respect for non-whites with the exception of few nations

Naturally SM Gavaskar has hit the Broad's clan with Bull's eye Precesion. If any Indian player argues with the umpires suddenly they will be reprimanded by Pappi Broad, Blondie Moustachie begger Crowe, White shoe licker Ranjan Madugalle and Dust bowl empire Mahanama

IPL Team? That is private property and if team owner X pay Y amount to Roshan, what is your problem? X may be doing it for Gavaskar, but only X will be loosing. It is private matter.

your previous statement is actually wrong... after being sacked of their jobs abroad and after being abused and beaten in Australia a lot of Indians have wanted to and come back from a 1% growing economy to a 7% growing one. Grow Up!

Hmmm let us talk:-

a) Even if the US has sank the world economy, they take good care of their citizens. No terrorist attacks since 9/11 and compare that with our pseudo-sickular government that feeds biryani on your taxes to a guy who mercilessly gunned down about 150 people in broad day light!

b) About Indians getting thrashed, I think there are narrow minded people everywhere just as there are good people everywhere. How different is India? Marathis spitting on Biharis, Telugus spitting on Andhrites, and on on.........

c) Well about people coming back that is just hype and illusion. Those who have lost their jobs they want to come back. But I can bet that anyone who has a good job would never want to give up that comfortable life style. More importantly you are paying taxes and you are getting a decent infrastructure. I don't think any filthy politician anywhere in the world except India has a record for building statues of his/her own self while alive!

I suggest you take a break! Get a CAT scan done to ensure your grey matter is intact!

Their taking good care of their citizens is true. No one's debating that. But they are not battling poverty & population problems - its a lot easier.

As for corruptions Its just that lobbying groups are official in US. PLease check mr. Bush's govts favouritism in awarding contracts to his erstwhile employer. Dont tell me there is no corruption in the US of A and to what extent its ruled by the corporates who contribute lots of money? There are many countries around the world who are 10x better than US in terms of standards of living.

I remember a 3- day power failure in New York State when I was there 3 years ago - so much for your crumbilng infrastructure. IN some areas they werent able to find the fault for a week. Havent seen that happen here despite the high power shortage. And guess what they came to which country to learn how to manage the problem?

As for discrimination check the amount of blacks in your high paying jobs such as investment banking. Most of them are relegated to second class citizens - so much for equality - and u talk of divisions in INdia.

And most US bred Indian hypocrites try to show they brown is white. Whom are you fooling? Go be a puppy dog to white man. We dont need you anyways

And yes on last count it was Indian grey matter which was in high demand in US and not vice versa!!

And its not fiction the Indians were the first ones to be laid off and sent back. The preference was for the locals. Be happy being a 2nd class citizen

Hmmm I would just like wrap up this discussion with a few counter points:-

a) Just sick and tired of hearing "Poverty" as an excuse. Go and read how much your politicians are eating up. If you can have scams to the tune of 4000 crores, this means there is enough wealth. Of course there is enough wealth for everyone's need but not enough for one man's greed! As far as poverty going down is concerned, statistics are lies, damned lies! Just go to a city like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai etc. and illusions about poverty will go away.

b) About the corruption in west, I never said there is no corruption. The extent is much less and you get what you pay for. If India can provide me that I will be happy to stay here. But I hear people tell me "Why don't you drive the change?". The answer:- I am a working professional and I would like to have a decent standard of living and provide the same to my family. Politics is not and never will be my forte!

c) As far as being a puppy is concerned, two things i) I am an independent consultant and I do not report to anybody ii) Even if I were working for somebody I would any day prefer to be a puppy to an honest white man rather than be one to a dishonest Indian. To me only character matters and not the color of the skin!
