Rotate all departments such as wicket-keeping and captaincy, not just bowling and batting.

IT SHOWS PEOPLE ARE BRAIN blocked when they are only selective about rotation/blame areas being bowling and batting.

we also need new eyes for wicket-keeping and new captains perspective. rotation will provide it.

Selectors are too imaginative
by Crick fan on Mar 01, 2010 07:29 AM

Give chances to youngesters but what basis? Why is M Vijay selected for ODI's when he is orthodox and compact player? He & Badrinath were tried in test matches but could not leave any big impression. Infact we lost first test to SA because of lack of thinking in the selection. May be Badrinath could have been given a chance in ODI's. Same way in the last ODI match the team composition was not up for it. In ODI's we can have people who are playing so well in IPL? Manish Pandey, Manoj Tiwari, Asnodkar, Parthiv Patel as batcman.
The two new pace bowlers who were tried out this match may not find a place in the team for years to come. They looked sacrificial lambs. We have a long list of tried out fast bowlers who can fit into stand by mode. Guys like Ishant, MM Patel, Irfan Pathan, VRV Singh, Gagan deep Singh, Balaji could be reasonable choices. You can try one fast bowler at one time but you just cannot throw them into matches all by themselves. They can do a bit of support to gus like Nehra, Zaheer, Ishant, and they can be sheilded if some one got stuck into them. But leaving them at their own is not correct.

India's experim, ent with Mithun and Tyagi
by Nikhil Shah on Mar 01, 2010 03:03 AM

With Nehra and Zaheer already 31 years old, the search for their replacements did not look very good after the last ODI. Tyagi was the quickest of them all bowling at a range of 84-89 mph, in the range of Ishant but was spraying the ball all over the place.

Mithun had better control and could be more suitable for ODIs with his yorkers and bouncers on a faster pitch.

Overall, Tyagi was more suitable for Test matches like Ishant and Sreesanth because of his pace and Mithun for ODI for being a bit versatile.

Sreesanth may just be the #3 seamer outside India for Test matches. We do not have a bowler like Zaheer for now for the future and 2 other bowlers from the IPL team the Rajasthan Royals are future candidates. Kamran Khan and Atul Sharma who is suppose to be quicker than Shoaib and Brett Lee.

For now: Zaheer Nehra and Praveen could be the trio for the WC. We did see the potential in Tyagi and Mithun from this ODI we need to see at least 10-15 ODIs to judge them. As far as the batting is concerned, Kohli, Yusuf and Sharma are adequate but seam bowling in India continues to be a problem.

Praveen maybe the suitable 3rd seamer in India for ODIs because of the need to prevent free-hits and also additional skills such as bouncers, yorkers, effort ball and control in the death overs.

it is a babuaaaa trick to blame everyone so they deliver for them.
In this case the blamers are babbua dhongi and his fans.
So first job should be to kick babuaaa dhongi out of the India XI and his fans. Also, not to deliver what they want.

This blame game on others is a prominent desease among them. For example, they blame their women to deliver the kind of eggs they want.

babuaa Bachaan got Aish blamed indirectly. Now he playing innocent.

Thacreeeys (most of his kind comes from baabua land) blamed north indians so diiity baabuaa get clubbed with good regions(haryana, western-up, rajasthan, etc) of North Indians..

In delhi, they clubbed babaaua beggars from 10 other states...

this babuaa menance got triggered when British trained them as english clerks and thus the current book raaaping babuas(admin, professionals) and those fraud artist and writers. The world is paying the price for it now.

for all idiots...

his is for all dead-brain morons who keeps blaming sachin for not winning wc...
had he been captain of any indian wc team so far...
does he controls indian bowling when he plays in wc...
did not he took india to wc 2003 finals where the greatest captain ganguly handed the cup to australia by fielding first on a batting pitch...and bowlers bowled like playing in club cricket...
was not sachin player of tournament in wc 2003...means he did what he could for india... it is other 10 players who failed...
did not he score 65 odd runs in semi-final agaainst srilanka in 96 wc whereas all other batsmen could not make a toal of 50 runs...
list can go on but it will be too much to u/s for these morons...
even if sachin was part of a wc winning team then they will find fault that he did not score enough runs or bowlers were responsile or susch and such player took catch thats why india won wc...
all these critics of sachin have done nothing in their life and never will... for them to criticize sachin is their only way to get some attention...

Team India Vulnerable without experienced players
by babu subramoniam on Feb 28, 2010 04:02 PM  | Hide replies

If India wants to play aggressive and always remain on top like the Aussies they should play with their full strenght especially in a 3mathch series. It is understandable if in a 5 match series if we are 4-0 up and in the final match we give chance to new comers. Loosing a series 4-1 is okay, but 2-1 is not a comprehensive victory. Dhoni is defenitely one of the better captains, but he is excessively supporting youngsters. He has to understand that unless the youngsters prove themslves consistently they cannot be played and also without Sachin/Sehwag/Gambhir in the team it is very difficult to win a ODI against top class teams like SA/Aus. In test match also in the absence of Dravid/Laxman we saw what happened in the first test. Rohit Sarma/Virat Kohli/Yusuf are fine players but they have to prove a lot.

I think that more than the batsmen, it our so called fast bowling bench strength which has been ruthlessly exposed. It is hogh time more attention is given to drastically improving our fast bowling without which winning consistently abroad would merely be a dream. Take srresanth for example. His bowling was pathetic and is showing no improvement at all. Nehra toop leaks runs at crucial stages.

India's strenght has always been batting for years and years. when can you say one time when we have won a series or a ODI cup with the help of fast bowlers.India has produced good fast/seam bowlers but not a full department just like pakistan/Aus/SA or WI.It has been a lone battle fought by Kapil Dev in the 80's/early 90's and then by Srinath in the 90's and now by Zaheer without support from other end on a consistent basis. Yes, Chetan/Prabhakar/Madanlal/Binny have supported Kapil, but not regularly.Similarly Srinath has also got support from Prasad. Now Zaheer also occasionaly gets coplimented by Ishant or Nehra >Sreesanth is a waste of a bowler. Ofcourse one should not forget the service of Kumble who also unfortunately had to fight alone. But our team depends totally on their batsmen. In the past it was Gavaskar/Vengsarkar/Mohinder/Gundappa etc in test. Then in the 90's it was Azhar/Sachin/Jadeja nd later joined by Sourav/Dravid/Sehwag. Hence i feel that cricketing authhorities/coaches have to find out a solution of finding good fast bowlers are match winners, not one or two but plenty.

LAST MATCH ON A PLATTER
by akash kumar on Feb 28, 2010 01:02 PM  | Hide replies

IT iin the name of giving chance to budding new younsters n for experimenting sake Indian skipper is always handing over the last match to the visitors. Seems Dhoni is playing in the hands of GAMBLERS N GAME SETTERS. South AFricans too r happy to retrieve the lost ground and ending series 2-1 which looks much much better than 3-0 whitewash. Seems dhoni is not different frm Azharudin in fixing matches... You can refer to the indiaTV video which once caught dhoni talking to some Don on his mobile......

ALREADY WHN SO MANY YOUNSTERS R UNABLE TO FIND PLACE IN THE TEAM BECAUSE OF THE SELECT ORDER WE HAVE WHR IS THE NEED TO GIVE CHANCE TO YOUNGSTERS WHO PLAYED LIKE A C GRADE TEAM. ALSO IT IS A FRAUD DONE WITH THE SPECTATORS OF THE MOTERA, GUJRAT WHO CAME TO SEE GUD MATCH N INDIAN CRICKET STARS. BUT ALL THE BECHARAS OF CRICKET TEAM NEEDED REST NA..... OR IN OTHER WORDS SOME MORE TIME FOR ADVS N COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES.

MEDIA NEVER HIGHLIGHT THIS ISSUE......SEEEMS THE MATCH FIXING CUT GOES TO SELECT MEDIA HOUSES TOO TO REMAIN QUIET....

yes!i agree with u. otherwise they should ban the 3rd 1 one day match if its useless to play if we already won the series...why simply cheating the people to buy the tkts, people come to see good match...like u said india always hand over last match to visitors but in the past when our team visitied w.indies, australia or s.africa they always whitewash us never hand over any match for us. may be last match was fix due to the coach gary coz is s.african and that match was given as gift of token.

indian bench strength exposed
by rohan sharma on Feb 28, 2010 12:53 PM

instead of exposing the bench strength directly in to the match they should be rotated...its just like throwing them into the waters to learn to swim...in the international ODIs
