Re: Myran Vijay?

Roy is a typical north or Mumbai indian who promote racism in India. All the time Indian team were dominated by less talented northies eventhough there were lot of talents from South, the selection bench controlled by Mumabi or other North part. I am a Keralite and I was praying every moment for Sachin to reach that milestone of 200 in ODI. The same way for all the performing talents of Indian soil. The *b*ull shi*t Roy wrote here some names Idli and Dosa.. *g*an*du ka *b*ach*a .. you come out of the shell where u live in. Be an Indian first. Badrinath, Murali, Karthik and all well performed for Tamil Nadu, that is the reason they are in team. At the same time a lot of talents from other states also included in the team, why you forgot that. Shame on you Roy..

We have seen perfomance Murali Vijay and Badrinath aganist Banglsdesh and South Africa.
Lot of players like TE Srinivasan,TR Shekhar,LSivaramakrishnan,M.Venkitaramana,B.Arun,Bharat Raddy,T Kumaran,LBalaji,Rocinsingh,WV Raman,VB Chandrashekhar,S. Ramesh,S.Sharath have came from Tamil Nadu.
Where are they now.how many tests they played for India.
Except Venkitaragavan and Shrikant, none of them were of international standards.

Sachin didnt started his carrer with L Balaji in 21st Century.Sachin started his carrer in 1989,when bookies have not statrted their operations.
One or two matches a Tamilian Perform, then all pandis and Pandi dailies start to compare him with Vivaian Richards.

Another typical, narrow-minded, narrow-heart-ed Indian always trying to find regional, religious, or other motives in every action. Like old women do!!! Shame. This is why India never progresses and Indians always seem so immature and quarrelsome and irrational to the outside world!
I feel pity for Nayar who gets in to the squad and gets out with out playing.I don't know whether Vijay will be in the team even he scores runs in the last match.
When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam.
When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters.
The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will.

RG,many borrow ideas and copy and plagiarize. In my opportunities to quote, what you wrote will be used and will say rg had written in rediff.been thinking of time as eternal, life as mortal-(life teaches you the value of time and Time teaches you essence of life)..for sachin he may have understood this fact or simply GOD -as you say made an exception....

You write as if Tendulkar is on top of the world.Remember that cricket is a game played by less than 10 countries making it the least popular game in the world.5/6th of the world population don't care about cricket. And cricket was invented more than 100 years back in England.100 years is more than enough time for a game to become popular.Yet it is not popular.Hence it will never become popular. It will die out in less than 50 years as lara has recently stated.
1)Game played by fewest nations and most of the cricket playing nations already showed disinterest in cricket(west indies ,australia... 2) Game dominated by climate(moist pitch ..ball turns,,,grass on pitch,,bouncer...ha ha ha Everything is done by climate...what the xxx the player is doing there 3) People say it’s a pure team game....????? look at footbal,basketball,vollyball...all the players of both the teams play together(11-11,6-6,11-11..etc) but in case of cricket its always 11 vs 2(bats man) ha ha ha ..still its a team game...
kabhi kabhi player ko batting bhi nahin milta hain….ha ha ha

Ajai Jacob,
Show some respect for the games originated from your state "Kerala".Just like Japan martial Games have its roots in the "Kalarai payattu',the "cricket and baseball" has its orgins in the now extinct game "Kuttiyum Kolum" of Kerala.

Good thought. Happy and proud about Sachin. However, not a worh comparison. First let be tell I love watch cricket the most. Tennis is not a game palyed with full pants and wearing sweaters. This is a needless comparison. Sachin is a legend, yesterday England's Nasser Hussain wrote in his column Sachin is better than don bradman. It is equally amasing to see Micheal Schumacher return to F1, a game where continous concentration and a G-froce of 3~5 is expreinced for 3 hours, at the age of 41. Anyways, it a good collection of points for a game more of statistics, calculation, curators and a lot more, than the game itself.

Very well said! I wish I could also write as well. I envy you,Rakesh, for your gift of the pen. Keep it up!
Manish Pandey is the highest run-getter in this Ranji season. He played a terrific knock against Mumbai in the finals. Yet, he is not given a chance. Murali Vijay is not a one-day batsman by any means. They must give chance to Manish
Re: Wherez Manish Pandey
by Sameer Bhagwat on Feb 27, 2010 07:39 AM
There are atleast 4 more deserving players Pandey,Pujara and Shikar Dhawan, R Satish in the ODI arena.

by babran on Feb 27, 2010 09:10 AM
Murali Vijay was a one day player. He was a flop in tests.Rahul Dravid failed to score runs while making his debut in one day internationals. But he was there in the team. This will be the last chance for Vijay to prove him.of course Sathish and Pandey are good batsmen.

by Manjunath swamy on Feb 27, 2010 11:52 AM
murali vijay's selection is not justified except TN people...he is not in form also...
by over 150 runs in the Vijay Hazare tourney.. and u guys complain when a tamil is chosen in the side. We are the best side in the nation and shd have won the ranji trophy as well but for one bad game.. the odi tourney is ours for sure
Re: TN Spanked Mumbai
by Sameer Bhagwat on Feb 27, 2010 07:38 AM
so what, did you see the Mumbai bowling line up? by that token TN was spanked in the Ranji smifinals. So Manish Pandey should play as he scored a 100 in the finals.

He is only one of three selectors. And he's in the national glare - do you think he can pick anyone without having a strong reason to pick him ???
10 players FIGHTING FOR THEIR SURVIVLA, CALL THEM FIDAYEEN, give them credit,
NOT DONGIIII WHO scraped due to combination of wicket-keeping (when batting fails) and captaincy(when all fails)
Dhongi KEEPS ALL COMPETITION AWAY BY wk POLITICS!!!!!!!
NO COMPARE WITH TENDULKAR-SEHWAG who face fresh attack and FRESH WICKETS,
when condition are TOUGH, DHONGI stand around like SELFISH shytee and says he waits for GOOD BALLS, And then makes lower order carry the burden for run-rate, THEY are ejected if they DONT FIRE, DHONGI STAYS on in the team DUE TO WICKET-KEEPING AND CAPTAINCY.
this is WHY THIS BAAAASTARD FIGURES ARE GOOD.
Re: What about individual performances > keep dhoongi out..
THERE IS NO CHANCE FOR DHONGI IF NOT FOR THE WICKET-KEEPING!!!
Dhongi is opportunist, only shoves his face IN BATTING ORDER when conditions are good,
this is how he learned to practice Batting and stay in the team by using wicket-keeping as shield so his batting SKILL ARE NEVER QUESTIONED and he can take advantage of others mistakes.
WHAT A BAAD LUCK FOR GOOD BATSMEN around DHONGI when they have to face SUCH PAANVATI OR DIIIIRT.
