You are welcome SS

Criticism isn't bad but it must have a reason. To criticize anyone for every reason isn't good, no matter whoever he is. Like some people used to criticize Sachin. If he makes runs, he is playing for himself, if he doesn't he is a waste and should be kicked out. That's bad!

SACHIN,hearfelt congratulations on getting a magneficiet 200* in 1day interternational. You are woderful. You made my 15 years long awaited dream come true. You are very lucky that there are billions of people around the globe(not only in india&indians) who love you soooo much&i am one of them.Your modesty&humbelness makes you even greater and loving. You never talk from your mouth to shut the big mouths of those few people who have nothing better to do in theire lives than to criticise but you rather let your bat to talk on your behalf. If somebody tries to spit on the moon,it comes right back on him.Like Gavasker said keep going and make some even bigger milestone to achieve, i.e. like 450 in a test inning or 250 in a 1day game.Good Luck.

Incorrect statement
by kumar sharad on Feb 26, 2010 08:47 AM  | Hide replies

I wud say this is absolutely an incorrect statement. Agree that Sachin is one of the greatest but definitely Sir Donald Bradman is the greatest of all time. He faced the fastest bowlers without guards and helmets. He used to wear just a cap. Definitely he is the greatest. No offence to Sir Sachin Tendulkar. You are my inspiration. Hats Off to you sir but Sir Donald Bradman I don't see a comparison.

sachins double is not the first !
by thirdumpire on Feb 26, 2010 08:00 AM  | Hide replies

Australian batswoman Belinda Clark on December 16, 1997 broke past the barrier to register 229 not out off 155 balls against the Denmark side in the women’s world cup. sachin is only the first man to do it, not the first cricketer to do it. In sport, it’s usually a man’s world. Men are quicker, higher and faster…. but not always.

Most Indian cricketers have already achieved double or even triple centuries within 40-50 balls playing "book cricket".... you seem to have forgotten to take this into account during your analysis... :)

Don, Lara has never carried that much burden Sachin has carried throughout his carrer. And what you mean by "true time"? When you go to the middle of a ground to play, every that occasion is a true one.

dude just accept it Sachin is indeed the greatest player of all time. Sir Don, lara etc they all scored triple hundred to be precise in all there 36 triple centuries scored, but u cant call all of them the greatest, look at sachins achievments that u might know also they are indeed special once.
Thats why all great players have reffered Sachin as the greatest player ever in cricket.

Consider 2 cases:

1.Playing when you know that even if you get hit on the helmet, you can still bat on and score all you hundreds. And make millions of rupees off the field.

2. Playing all your life for your life. When you know that one lapse in concentration could cause you great physical harm. And yea all this without all the millions of bucks off the field.

I consider #2 as more thrilling and a greater achievement even though not a statistical delight.

Kapil took India from 21 for 5 to 250 in a crucial situation in a single handed effort. His knock is the best in ODI History. Balaji

But see the facts too.
India is leading the one day series. No pressure on him.
The pitch is batting pitch.
India choose to bat first.
So I still think Kapil Dev's 175 knock is really great in terms of the importance.

dear talk cool,

it is not a fair comparison; ST weilds the bat at opening and faces the fire of the the best pace bowling. This needs great concentration as well as technique. The second is the double ton is against beter team than Zimbabwe

So you want someone to wait for Zimbabwe situation and then score 200?
I feel pity of some people who really put their life to find some reasons to discount Tendulkar. this group is as big as mafia with complete intention to down tendulkar.
Why Cant I say Kapil had nothing to lose at a situation like 17/5 and as he was not full-time batsman and thats why he made 175*?
I admire Kapil as well as Sachin. But trying to find many reasons and making statements like Ok, he is great indicates poor thinking and a kind of jealosy to refuse to appreciate the greats.
If we see the list of top highest scores, all were done in the first innings. I am talling this as you are talking about facts.

I have great respect for both Sachin and Kapil. Sachin's 200* is admirable which made India proud. It's not easy for anyone to score 200 in One Day game.

I also can't forget Kapil's 175 knock against Zimbawe steering India to victory from a certain defeat. Had India lost this game, then India would not have won 1984 world cup. India can not forget this. No doubt Kapil was a great cricketer as an all-rounder.
