Actual plan

Other countries witnessed that BCCI can conduct IPL lavishly in SA last year. Some of the boards would have thought by raising doubts over security,BCCI can shift IPL to their country (may be Aus,SA or England). This can be a good deal for them.
They are very clever.

Don't come!

If anyone has any issues/concerns abt the security in India and are wishing to include India along with Pakistan, Afganistan and other unsafe country, please don't come. Spare the thought and stay in your "safe haven".

IPL will run without these loud mouthed, greedy guys! Yeah! money might be a bit less due to lack to "star players", but I bet Srilanka, West Indies, etc will come to play...

Its really funny to watch these SA, Aussie players coming to play IPL eventually, after all hue and cry...!! Same set of guys show disappointment of not being bought by the franchises during the auction!

Final point - If you feel that you might die if you come to India, just stay away!!! Probably its written in your fate that you are supposed to die in your own country or some other "safe country" in some terror attack!

Best would be to cancell this IPL altogether and give some much needed break to our players. Look at our players everyone is getting injured because of continious cricket. I am sure this IPL will not allow our country to produce another legends like Sachin, Dravid, Dada, Kumble, VVS or for that matter even Dhoni. The real cricket is international cricket and we dont want something like this which is only good for US or UK.

Nice One. I completely agree with NG. People talk as if they are aware of the word voilence in india...Smith toured even america with his wife or GF, where Laden attacked the towers....wht non sense? Whn every one in IPL mgmt is assuring safety n security, why this drama? Smith, I know u dude....Doctor mite have told u to take rest and u dont want ur team memebers to make money out of it..India is better than SA, which they call it as RSA

MS:

Till yesterday everyone was singing praises for SA and opposing the concern shown by New Zealand and Australian players...
Good to see you include SA players in that list...

BTW, are you okay with the World Cup being shifted out of Pakistan, or do you want all precious players to go there and undergo the treatment Sri Lankan players received?
If yes, I can fully appreciate yours and NG's message as being a genuine one.

Else it is not based on principle but rather a misplaced nationalism a la Bal Thakrey..

:)

NG:

;-)... you are making it sound as if the Franchisees were auctioning off death warrants and if the "same set of players" were eager for that option, then why do they complain now? :)

Good one... :)

We should not get down by this

I am sure its a tactics by Aus/NW and now SA boards to shake the new cricket empire - India. IPL owners and BCCI should not allow this thing to happen. They should stick to India as venue and provide good security but should not bog down by these threats.

In nutshell I want to say if some or all foreign players are not coming let them not come and carry on with matches in India. They will learn the lesson and will participate from next time.

No, I am sure Modi had struck deal with Australians - More money! Now Smith wants the pound of flesh for South Africans.

The foreign cricket stars know that they are prime attractions in IPL. In the whole IPL hardly any of the current Indian cricket stars shine. Without these foreign players (Australians, SA, Sri Lankans and Englishmen, IPL is no more than Deodhar trophy tournament.

Better let the cricket take a back seat for sometime. Enough cricket. Those days, we enjoy cricket becasue it is played once in a while and cricket series with 5 test matches and 5 ODI use to attract quite a lot interest. Today, many stadiums are half-empty and sponsors increase the stakes to occupy premium positions in TV. Once people know that TRP is coming down everything will go. I do enjoy cricket. But too much of cricket is just waste of time. This is also ensuring that no other game is given priority in India. It goes with Economic Theory that anything in excess will have its downfall, automatically.
