cricketers ever played this game. no docubt. But then, when it comes to captaincy, he is below par. The reasons: may be he is too soft and friendly, may be he is not a strategic thinker, may be he is more a team player than a leader, may be he is not lucky. who knows the reason? As a private franchise, if MI fails to make semis this time, it will be 3 in a row without semis- that is not acceptable when only 8 teams play! Personally I would like to see the following in semis: MI CSK DD and KXIP or DC
Hockey is supposed to be India's "National Game", but now, it is "was". Four days to go for the World Cup in Delhi and not one word on the tournament or Indian team's preparations!! Keep it up Rediff!

every sport in india is supported by indians, when paes wins we feel happy, people do watch matches of paes, bhupathi.same with hockey..if india can prove atleast anything with whatever skills, facilities the players have, hockey will also attract money, people etc. but what happens in reality, whenever it the world cup, olympics etc. where does indian hockey fare, do they even qualify for semis.the answer is big "No".And then the hockey players feel let down by people.why wouldnt they? what have these hockey players given india other than dissapointment. At international level let hockey acheive something, then people will definitely appreciate. The case with hockey players is all talk and no game.thats why hockey is on the downhill.message to hockey is simple win big tournaments, then everything will follow - 1983 set it off for indian cricket. No reason why it cant happen for hockey.Go India Go.Win first, then everything will come later.
odis and 20-20 are for the youth only..ipl will prove which teams do well..seniors can do well..in one or two matches not on a consistent basis, the results are there for everyone to see.mumbai indians failed to qualify for semis in last two years inspite of having the strongest ipl team with the likes of sachin, sanath, malinga, zaheer, harbhajan, nayyar..etc..sanath and sachin need to sit back or atleast come down the order, it is there their experience will come handy.unless that happens, how much ever mumbai indians try, their core is old..and more opportunities in terms of opening etc. need to be given to youngsters.unless that happens mumbai indians cannot qualify for semis

I disagree ... In the first edition Sachin did not play most matches and MI was on a losing streak from the beginning. Still it came close to qualifying with a late surge.
Anyways .. Sachin has proved in ODI's that he is still one of the best around.. it's unfortunate that he is not playing in T20 internationals .. otherwise his numbers would have spoken for him .. If you look at his IPL numbers .. they are not bad and are among the best for Mumbai Indians.
Watch out for MI in this edition .. they will definitely be a stronger team with Sachin's blazing form! Unfortunately he alone cant win matches consistently .. others would have to contribute too ... Let's see...

that is true..he cannot win matches on his own.but then he should give others in the team especially youngsters to get more opportunities too..
Mumbai Indians will again b at bottom as the team doesnt have ne1 who can win the match on his own. Kevin Pollard will struggle on indian pitches. Jayasurya & Sachin r just waste. Youngsters who played MI were pathetic. Dont keep ne hopes frm MI team.

@jayesh,y cant u accept tht Sachin is a falied cricketer when it comes 2 T20 cricket. Accept the fact tht MI is just a hype & RIL is using the team to gain money only.

Jayasurya and sachin are the big names in MI, they are old war horse, sachin can do nothing in 20-20, he is a VERY BIG 0 in this format.

Rather than making unneccessary dialogues, try to do something for your own state. You are best only for PARA. Nothing else.
