Sachin Tendulker
by Paul on Feb 21, 2010 09:41 AM

He has scored 674 runs in seven test innings at a whopping average of 84.25 with five centuries and one score of above fifty. Talk about consistency and getting better like a bottle of vintage wine! He has scored centuries in four back-to-back test matches with games against Sri Lanka at Kanpur and Mumbai being the only two exceptions.

If one were to extend the review period back to the entire 2009 series, Tendulkar continues to shine through. He played ten matches starting with the series in New Zealand till the Eden Gardens triumph, and it was only in one match (the third test at Wellington) that Tendulkar failed to make a crucial contribution.

His average was a robust 78.3 in the ten tests with six centuries, three over-fifty scores and a highest of 160 against the Kiwis at Hamilton. Just proves that great players are beyond statistics and to some extent beyond even wins and losses.

It is just that his detractors seem to remember all Sachin's failures and hound him with data. But, when he makes significant contributions they prefer to keep mum. One doesn't blame them for their uncharitable ways.

Humm good selection..wold have been beter if Ashwin comes in for any of three pacer. that will give perfect balance, as three medium pacer , three spiners long batting line up with Ashwin coming at no.9

Charity is the only solution to solve this problem
by pravin sarode on Feb 21, 2010 06:08 AM

dhoni donates his gloves to ground boys at kolkata match after he won kolkata test but that does not relieve all indian of their social obligation of donating to haity victims near west indies. All celebraties have donated exept BCCI, IPL & CA. Are these boards of cricket are really short of so much money that they can not donate a single dollar to carabeans victims as international duty?

Solution to Sehwag Problem
by Jaiganesh Dhandapani on Feb 21, 2010 05:05 AM  | Hide replies

Let vijay open with badrinath at No.3 and sehway at No.5 if India bats second, all sehwag wants is rest not exactly at No.4. Let sehway open the batting if India plays first. Hope this helps sehwag.

Sehwag is talking like a union leader after kolkata test it is true that 10 minutes rest is not enough for opener batsmen to face seamers but the test cricket is stamina game and that is why it is called test cricket. Sehwag must take rest in alternate test matches rather to take rest or bat one down like rahul dravid & sachin must open the innings as he regained confidence after his 175 runs bithday gift to sania mirza in hyderabad against australia

Sehwag has his way to respect

sehwag know the political nexxus, Sehwag has his way to respect tendulkar...

It is like saying that take your foot-steps. NOT a bad thing to respect.

It is not like Dhogi who makes political nexxus to stablize his position, shuffles his position/order to maximum advantage, etc.

Hope tendulkar keep away from the nexxus. CHANGE OF CAPTAINCY IS OVER-DUE.

Sachin will never retire from cricket as it gives him immense wealth by doing advertisements and being brand ambassador to many top brands.
He is just for himself.

sehwag is missing some thing i suspect it must be quality time with his family. time management is real problem due to IPL and test No. 1 WWF so like Ricky Pointing Sehwag must stop playing twenty20 and concentrate on test cricket is my view because we all are human being and have limitations but BCCI wants sehwag to work like ROBOT so best way is stop playing IPL and devte more attention to Test cricket like Ricky Pointing because test cricket also gets money now like 175000 US $. I salute Ricky Pointing for his bold decision to stop playing all t20 after england tour 2-1 defeat and see the white wash of parkistan, west indies after that 1 month rest ricky pointing got and spent quality time with his wife and daughter so it is after all job satisfaction also that counts even if u get more money u may or may not be happy so hats of pointing again for quiting t20 for better performance at test
