DHONI LED FROM THE FRONT
by damodaran mohan on Feb 20, 2010 05:19 PM

Very appropriate gesture for a fantastic win. Dhoni led from the front both with his batting and with captaincy. The team looked united and above all the intensity to win and maintain the no.1 position was very visible. All the greats contributed with match winning centuries and applied themselves to the situation. On the bowling side of course , Singh was indeed the King but that doesn't any way make the criticism on his his poor performance in recent past any less relevant because this intensity to deliver were not visible.Amit Mishra also bowled his heart out and may be with luck he could have been more successful. But the bowler to whom the heart reaches out is undoubtedly Ishant Sharma. What level of commitment ? Poor fellow was struggling but the resolve was simply unprecedented. It is good he has been rested. Still the Indian bowling on the whole looks “work in progress” for a no.1 position and they will have to blood freshers. SA batting on the other hand looked one man army of Hashim Amla. Even if they had done some better catching may be the result could have been different. One day matches are entirely different and the series looks evenly poised.

Yes, if Dhoni does this in Mumbai, he first has to ask if the ball boy is a local or not and whether he knows marathi or not.

CRICKETING GESTURES BY THE INDIAN CAPTAIN
by venkataramanan subramanian on Feb 19, 2010 12:27 PM

It was nice to hear that our Indian Cricket team captain Mr Dhoni has presented his cricket kits to all the boys doing duty at the Eden.It is really nice gesture and I would be happy if other leading cricketers follow suit which will act as a stimulus for the budding cricketers of our country, who might be having great expections.I wish my message reaches to all the cricketers.
