Sree is the strike bowler for India at present. His recor agt. S.A is awesome. So he should have been an automatic choice. But our selectors know nothing. I think being in a democratic country like India, The Indian team selection should also be in the democratic way. The audience are the best judges. Further VVS Laxman should be also in the Indian one day squad considering his present form.
If saheer is not play..we have an automatic answer is Sree.He is performed very good in last two series...why these people discuss about Irfan and Agarkar, they are good bowlers but not perform well recently...only one thing is a minus poit to sree..he coming from specily form Kerala....why these ISHANT and Sudeep tyagi in the squad.....simple answer they are the pets of Dhoni & co.

Good one Ajith, some people here for unknown reason wants Irfan Pathan. Believe me, I watched the recent Duleep match, he had no pace at all. Only during the morning hours he got some swing, even though he ended up well in the wickets column, I am pretty sure he is still not at his best.
If Srikant is biased, why he would select his brother Yousouf Pathan or Abhisek Nayar from Mumbai, Y people are so worried about Ashwin's selection when boht Mishra , harbajan are not at their best form. Y they have to pull regional issue all the time?
Replace AJIT AGARKAR.... with ZAHEER KHAN... we need atleast one experienced pacer... agarkar is in good form with bat and ball... he also closer to take 300 wickets in one day

My vote goes to Irfan Pathan. He is a genuine allrounder and has done pretty well in the recent past.
Zaheer, Gauti, Bhajji, Yuvi all not being in the team is a fantastic opportunity to test the bench strength.
As I write this, new flashes on Smith is to miss the ODIs as well - Kallis to lead SA and Boucher still doubtful.
The success and strength of a team's continued dominance can be truly judged only by the performance and resiliance of the bench strength.
A glorious example would be recent Australian backups that performed and won in India.
I believe the selectors and more importantly the fans ought to be patient with the youngsters and let go of regiional egos and perjudices.
In this age and time of IPL, where far more and many have an opportunity to make a living out of cricket, lets all enjoy, applaud and encourage the new comers who are thrust into the Indian team.
irfan pathan shud be picked as a replacement of zaheer. All the indian pacers will go for runs so it will b better if u pick a bowler who can make some runs for the team

Irfan Pathan should be picked.India is losing the services of a wonderful allrounder due to bad selection.I fail to understand in what way Sudip Tyagi is better tha n Irfan Pathan?

Really Mukesh, so Sudeep Tyagi or Sreesanth is from TN or all 11 players are from TN? If TN has 3 players what's wrong with that? They were selected based on their Ranji performances, fine some good players from other state teams too missed out, that is plain unlucky. I don't have anything against Pathan but did you by any chance watche the recent Ranji or Duleep trophy matches. Pathan was doing good only during the morning hours when there is early swing, he has no pace at all Period. They could have blooded Mithun and tested him against quality opposition instead of Sreesanth. Pathan has to regain his confidence and play well against Ranji teams to be selected for the country. If Srikanth is biased why should he select Yousuf Pathan or Abhishek Nayar from Mumbai...Please think before you write...

definatly but u replace tyagi to Zahir not pathan. Atleast one who stand lower middle order. U know duleep trophy final match Pathan brothers partnership, they won the trophy.

since making his comeback into the INDIAN TEAM, nehra is bowling with an economy rate of 6.8. on an average, he leaks 8 to 10 runs thru his poor fielding in every match. he allows opposition to convert singles into doubles. he drop catch once in every 3 matches, he also misses run-out opportunity and still HE IS PLAYING AS INDIA's STRIKE BOWLER.
zaheerbhais injury is major setback for bcciteamindia. without zaheerbhai bcciteamindias bolwing is weak and thirdclass. by hook or crook zaheerbhai should be in ODI squad.

Ifran deserves a chance. He has performed at domestic level. However, Sree has already replaced Zaheer so it will be interesting to see if he makes it to the squad.

How come Srikkanth has selected Sreesanth? He could have selected L. Balaji so that he can have one more TN player in the team since his minimum quota is 3 TN players in the Indian team.
