bcci is paying protes
by vinay on Feb 17, 2010 11:16 PM  | Hide replies

history shows that sa players r known to succumb to bookies. so bcci is going to pressurise sa to lose the match.
so dont worry. even if play is possible for 2 hrs., sa is going to lose.
so enjoy.

Rain or no Raina. Rain na? Raina was not selected. So rain came to punish Indians.

Thee is no way South Africa can salvage this. India is and will be the number one team for the foreseeable future.

I do not think SA will be able to save 7 wickets in 98 overs. It will be a bright sunny day and full day play is possible tomorrow.

Kallis will keep on dreaming.

Fifth day of Kolkotha test
by K.P. Balasubrahmanya on Feb 17, 2010 09:57 PM

The South Africans seem to have the capcity to draw the test abd win the series 1-0. Though the Indians will gain a moral victory statistically they will have to be satisfied with a draw.My reasons are- there is only a day's left, that is, a maximum of 90 overs or so. Proteas have no illusion of a victory. So naturally they will have to battle it out for a draw. They have lost 3 wickets, yet they have at least 3-4 batsmen who can play a long innings, like Amla who has already proved to be the man of the series, Ashwell Prince who has to prove a point by being pushed down the order to his original and more accostomed place, Duminy who is young but can play a big innings as he had proved in Australia, and that determined A B D Villiers who has been in form (though not a big form) and has the necessary experience. Unless they loose the mental game they will see the day through. Zaheer & Co. may not be able to destory the opposition. Then don't forget the strong tail that the Africans have. Even in the first innings the last wicket pair moved from 266 to 296 on the 2nd day.So it is going to be an intersting day for all concerned. All the best India!

final day.
by aravamudhan gopalaswamy on Feb 17, 2010 07:58 PM  | Hide replies

it is a matter of just one more wicket as early as possible then we can make inroads. tomorrow pitch will favour more for spinners than today as they have already taken 3 wickets in limited time. THat is the indication.
