Loose the match
by Srinivas R on Feb 16, 2010 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

India should have gone for 400 lead. That way they could have tried for a innings defeat. 350 lead is meager. India may loose the match lookin at the way SA is playing(6 runs in 5 balls in the second innings). If they score 550 by 5th day lunch and allow India to bat, India may loose quick wickets and loose the match.

350 is meager lead? In the first test match S Africa had a first innings lead of 325. Was that meager?? And if 350 is meager then why is 400 huge enough to inflict innings defeat? Do 50 runs in a test match create a difference between meager and innings defeat?? I am learning so many things about test matches in this one message !!!

Laxman and team Rocks!!!!
by Haddi Pasli on Feb 16, 2010 07:37 PM

No question - The man of the moment saves Indian team yet again from jaws of defeat...and this guy is the center-piece of an ever-shaky test lineup.

We love you Laxman...keep going. Of course, good knocks by Sehwag, 10dulkar, Dhone...but Laxman is the glue that ties everything together.

indian ODI team
by gaurav manchanda on Feb 16, 2010 07:34 PM

shud selectors include yusuf pathan and manish pandey in the INDIAN ODI team.

1 more thing, bhajji and yuvraj will not be playing ODIs against SA. In addition to this, gambhir has injured his forearm and there are big doubts over his fitness.

Re: opener

@Gaurav: You mean to say Sehwag never plays according to the situation? two triple hundreds, a 290, many more double centuries and scores of innings of 150 ... plus that special 83 in the Chennai test... It is SEHWAG who is a nightmare for the opposition, not Hayden (now that he has retired). Of course I'm not suggesting that Hayden was lesser... he indeed was one of the great opening batsmen, but that WAS... right now, I find it hard to find ANY opening batsman who can equal Sehwag (Dilshan comes close, but not close enough)

hayden, bcoz he always played according to the situation.
whenever his team was in crisis situation he stayed at the wicket.
he had the ability to counterattack the opposition without taking too much risks.

they could hv hit out the remaining 15 minutes of play and put the lead out of SAs reach..India might hv to bat again on the 4th innings..a far more substantial lead could enabled India to attach and attack..however, lest see.

i think this is the best match India has played for a long time, the pitches should be made like this, hats of to hte marker. Now we should go for the kill, don't give tomuch of easy runs by over atacking. play sensibly. we will win this match by 5th morning.sure
Well played Sehwag and guys.
