Modi lacks common sense.
by Nani on Feb 16, 2010 10:56 AM

In Modi's view , How is Maharashtra any safer than HYD? Shiva sena's open threat to IPL, Pune Bomb blasts. Such situations are worse than that in HYD. Modi's politics is talking here, Fist, he mishandled Jadeja's participation by taking an unilateral view. If he had moved it to any other state, it would sound sane, but moving a person from m-u-c-k to a s-e-p-t-i-c tank does not make sense either.

Last time when IPL was shifted to South Africa, why these frachises did'nt think of our nation (same situation as it is for Hyderabad - due to security reasons). They should think in a broader manner.

SS & MNS
by md ahmed on Feb 16, 2010 02:03 AM

Before this SS & MNS were attacking Indians not to work or stay in Mumbai, now they are telling that they will not allow aussie bcos Indians were attacked by Australians in australia. Instead SS & MNS should welcome aussies for attacking Indians. Shameless SS & MNS doing policts for personal gain. It is high time to deal these people with severe punishment.

It's quite arrogant of Modi to not reconsider when the CM himself asked him to. This is an insult to AP cricket fans especially because a single Test match or a world cup game hasnt been allocated to Hyd despite having a good stadium.

I dont think the Aussies will play if the matches are shifted to Maharashtra because of Shiv Sena who already said they will protest if they play.
Also the security situation is a cause for concern because of the terror attack in Pune. And DC has many Aussie players in their line up including the captain Gilchrist. Also, the Telangana protesters are not people that cant be controlled. They are students who are trying to raise their voice. The government is just refraining from using too much force as its unnecessary.
So conducting these matches will be no issue as the government itself assured complete security.

Hyderabad and Vizag are as safe as any other venue in India
by Nizam Hyder on Feb 15, 2010 10:34 PM

Hyderabad and Vizag are as safe as any other venue in India. I am not sure what logic IPL/BCCI used to shift matches out of these venues. As for the T agitation, it is indeed a headache but it is very limited in scope and will not affect the matches in any way. Every place in India has some issue or the other. However, unlike Mumbai which has regular bomb attacks and threats from Shiv Sena, no one in Hyderabad or Vizag has threatened to block IPL .. to the contrary, even the most extreme JACs have expressed wholehearted support for IPL. In this backdrop, shifting the matches our of Hyderabad/Vizag to other locations smacks of regionalism, dirty politics and evil designs. IPL/BCCI organizers must immediately shift the matches back to Hyderabad/Vizag and offer an unconditional apology to the people of AP.

Shame on TRS
by rameshreddy on Feb 15, 2010 10:34 PM  | Hide replies

TRS is the culpits, in lines of Shiv Sena. They have interuppted the practice match. Even though I am a Hyderabadi I feel its the lesson to the agitators for not hosting IPL. Hyd is in the verge of loosing Metro project and many IT companies are planning to shift their offices out of HYd once the contact is over and they will not renew the same. Hyd will soon become a desert if people still support TRS. They are promising to all telanganites that their children will get Govt. Jobs. They are promoting that If all Andhras will leave Hyd, all 2 crore children will get jobs and tehy stopped going to their daily jobs and participating in dharnas.
Shame on this 2 parties.....
