at present team required all rounder which can play any type of roll as fielder/batsman or bowler & both pathans have such capacity. while I. sharma though continuosly failed get chance pe chance & why not p[athans.
Though initially it seems to be a problem related to performance - but then their are others who are there in team inspite of inconsistent perfromance ,indiscipline etc. Think Pathan brothers are paying price for representing Gujrat and being m.... They are not dhonis favourites too.

being and represeting Gujarat and being a m... as you say, was always the case for Irfan. Then how and why did they get a chance? Please ont castecize, religionize and regionize every thing. Gujrat is one where everyone gets a chance ( ofcourse within GujaRAT. tEH upa in centre does more divisive politics than the Guj govt.
There was a time when Irfan picked up a ball and we would be assured that he would get a wicket. Who can forget that fantastic tour we had in Pakistan. He was literally unplayable. But I would credit his drop of form on Greg Chappel. He not just ruined the team as a whole, bringing in factionalism, but also ruined Irfan by brining him every now and then as a pinch hitter. He was taken for granted as being a good bowler and his bowling was neglected at the cost of his batting. In my opinion even 20/20 is not helping his cause. We need Irfan in Tests and that’s the real game. It was heartbreaking to watch us loose against South Africa in the first test match. But I guess that’s fate. We have currently no bowler of world class with consistency and that is the key to being a great Test Team. I suppose every ups has its downs and hope we come back with a bang in the Eden match. And yes we hope he comes back to form.
We are a country of more than a billion. If we had to select 5 good teams. I am sure there would still be about another 100s talented cricketers who would be left whining.
Probably a rotating basis of selecting cricketers and categorising cricketers on the basis of type of cricket they fit can help give justice to cricketers like the pathans and others who belong to the class.
it is absolutely wrong , as many ignorant cricket enthu's think pace is everything in bowling.Bowling legends like Mc Grath,Hadlee were not relying on pace but on accuracy.Irfan was not getting his seam pitched as he wanted and lack movement, consistency and accuracy in his bowling. But one should admit he is best choice as a 3rd seamer and 7th down player in any form of cricket.better than his brother, praveen kumar etc..Irfan should be tried as an all rounder in team...as a bowler who should keep bowling with an economy rate well below 4.0 per over.and take few wickets and slog in the final 10 overs.....and will be an asset to indian team.but he have to change his attitue and compete with new inclusions...Abhishek Nayar is also fit for this slot i mentioned

why not yusuf who smashed 210 runs against south zone just now. indian selector will give him a chance when he becomes budhdha actually the player must be picked up when he has the best form not a year later or when some legend get injured like dravid laxman so poor selection of team is the blunder. also those who are in the team are not concentrating on the real cricket they are njoying rugby, football, so only mirracle will save indian cricket if such phisically present mentally abscent player play for india ?
