foolish selectors
by gaurav manchanda on Feb 11, 2010 05:58 PM  | Hide replies

selectors shud have tried BADRINATH and MANISH PANDEY in the recently held India-Bangladesh Test series, but all the fools working as the selectors preferred to go with DRAVID, LAXMAN, SACHIN & YUVRAJ. Within next 1 & half years, sachin, dravid and laxman will retire & then India hav to include 3 new batsmen in the middle order.

There are rumors that BADRINATH shud b dropped in place of KARTHIK or RAINA. It is totally injustice to drop a player who has scored half century in his debut inning and that too against bowlers like STEYN and MORKEL. he sshud be given atleast 3 or 4 more test inning to prove himself.

KARTHIK already has got lot of chances in the test team but he failed to prove himself. he is a very good batsman but he is more suited for ODIs rather than Test cricket.

Selectors have given around 10 chances each to RAINA and KOHLI in ODIs, but they have dropped ABHISHEK NAYAR without giving him any chance. NAYAR shud play in ODIs. he is a true match winner who an counter attack any bowler in the world. recently he has scored a century against STEYN, MORKEL and PARNELL. You need matchwinners to win the matches, JADEJA is not a match winner. U cant rely on JADEJA when India need 40 runs from 24 balls. JADEJA is playing as an all-rounder in the team but whenever yuvraj and jadeja have played together YUVRAJ bowled more number of balls than jadeja and his economy rate is high as compared to YUVI (YUVI has taken more wickets than jadeja whenever they played together)

Every one is talking about batting
by Srinivasan Ashok on Feb 11, 2010 09:52 AM  | Hide replies

I.D.I.O.T the bowling let us down more than the batting in the last test. We don't have genuine fast and spin bowler and we will loose again in the next test match irrespective of Laxman availability. What is the excuse for SAF scoring more than 550 runs and loosing 6 wickets only?

The let down in the match was the chances missed for Amla throughout his innings by the fielders. It is known throughout the world that India's strength is batting. Bowlers cannot be blamed when fielders miss sitters. If Amla was taken at 71 probably SA would have been restricted to 450 and not 500

Well said. Indian bowling is worse than Bangladesh attack. They should bring back Irfan Pathan, RP Singh and Piyush Chawla who have troubled the SA batsmen in the past. Just compare the bowling figures of Harris with our spinners. Steyn certainly did the damage. But Harris contributed too

Yuvaraj is not a Test batesman

I will challenge that with or without Yuvaraj in the team would not make any difference. Go and check his record in test.

test
by jairaj krishnan on Feb 11, 2010 08:53 AM

the point is in the last test we allowed Kallis and Amla to prosper (our bowlers are not doing enough home work - Amla is vulnerable against moving deliveries and Kallis is getting out too many times in the leg stump line), we missed a genuine spinner - Harbhajan is over, drop him and keep ojha and chawla in team, we need to go for zaheer khan, abimanyu mithun, praveen kumar and let dhoni keep wkts, try Kohli @ no.
3 and include Abhishek Nayar (he had scored a hundred in the 3 day match 10 days back only)

Having Sehwag in the team is a always a booster. It is understood that he plays with agression attacking the bowlers. This is certainly a gamble. Sometimes it doesn't work in favour of the team. If Sehwag stays for a while the batsmen in other end get sto settle down and can start rocking. Gambhir is just an example. This is how the set-up. We cannot complain about the roles given to each individual given by the captain.
