India should loos lots of matches then only people will forget cricket and move to other sports. Cricket is giant that has taken all the space in our mind. Thats why we dont win any gold medal at olumpics. Because all money, attention goes to cricket. This is high time we ban the media publicity of cricket and promote other sports that most of indian can play also. how many people play cricket anyway. Just people watch it on tv, fantasize whole day thats all. Cricket has ruined our nation.
It is clear India cannot face S Africa without Laxman and Dravid. Dhoni and Selectors must be praying for a speedy recovery of these two stalwarts from injuries . Dhoni is really superb for T 20 or 50 overs - but test cricket is a far cry . He makes too many shufflings and changes by keeping the Seniors away -- and he is paying for it and suffering today .There is no choice for another 2 to 3 years but to rely on them before Rohit Sharma , Badri , M Vijay , S Raina , Dinesh will mature -- but there are no signs today these cricketers are improving ; hope at least they will play in second test or else South Africa will massacre India. DHONI MUST handover Test captaincy to Laxman .

Wish he had not forced Sourav Ganguly to retire. Remember the last time South Africans came, it was Sourav who stood tall and scored 2 great 80 scores on difficult tracks to help India level the series !! 87 at Kanpur and 87 at Ahmedabad. And the young captain thought that Sourav was not needed any more. Shame !!

All these so called "Old Legs" are the backbone of Indian batting line up. Today had Sourav, Dravid and Laxman been in the middle, thing would not have been THAT bad. That is why it is said, OLD is always GOLD! All these badrinath, raina, rohit etc can't even hold a candle against the likes of Sourav, laxman and Dravid when it comes to Playing Tests.
The practice of putting pressure on selectors and the captain especially when it comes to the selection of inform players who are dropped for reasons other than performance is becoming common and as a result the selectors are experimenting with either new faces or a couple from the bench strength who are yet to be given enough exposure. The result is before all of us.
The World Cup is approaching and these kind of experiments, be it in any form of the game, demoralizes the players as most of them who are tried and dropped and then recalled for the World Cup find it difficult to perform well due to the fear of getting dropped again.
I personally feel that such experiments should be done after World Cups so that the players have enough time to settle down and at the same time the selectors get enough time to judge the ability of the players.
SA are playing a depleted India. True, Steyn bowled well. The balls which got Gambhir and Tendulkar were good, but the in the others it was a lack of experience which showed.
I can't say that SA are a dazzling batting side. Hashim Amla's batting will put anyone to sleep. He survived so many edges that one can hardly call a performance like his remarkable.
