It was not regional feeling, it was Dinesh Karthik's in experience as a captain and poor feilding and Yosuf's individual brilliance (Luck also favored him).
On indian flat wickets 536 in two days is not a big task (we know how WV Raman/Brisjesh Patel/Raman Lamba used to play in domestic circuit.
SZ lost mainly because of team selection. Don;t understand how they selected players like A srinivas. He is too young and that doesn't mean that he needs to be selected. In both the innings he bowled, he gave close to 300 runs at a healthy rate of 5 per over which is too expensive. Another person who doesn;t deserve the selection is AB Karthik. Tamil feelings played a bigger role in team selection and it's very unfortunate.

It so happened that a Tamil scored close to 350 runs with 150 plus score in both the innings.

Venkat V - The idea is to select best players. Dinesh Karthik deserves the chance. A srinivas do not deserve the chance. SZ lost the match mainly because of him only. The reason on why he got selected is just because he plays for TN. You need to understand that selectors are not supposed to be biased.

Hey Sreenivasalu, Do you listen the domestic crickets properly? Seems you are a poor observer Indian domestic cricket. AB Karthik deserves the selection very much. He is far better player than many other players in both the team. Only Jaffer(49.5) and Sathish(48.4) have better averege than him(46.7), thats too very close. In his 14 test matches he scored 3 centuries and 5 fifties. His averege is far better than nealy 12 batsmen ( I dont include bowlers) in both the team.
If because of the single man 'Yusuf Pathan' the match gone infavour of West. Dont talk rubbish.

Don;t look at the averages plainly. If a person scores 300 in one innning and 0's in next 4 innings, his avg will still be 60. That's the problem. You need see his performance with very good teams. The reason he got selected is just that he is from tamil nadu. Tamil feelings are playing a bigger role for SZ selection and it's very unfortunate for South India.

Well his averege is NOT better than 12, but 9 of them.

Hi Sreeni, if thats the case I can say that ABKarthink is better than even Jaffer, I dont know about Sathish. ABKarthink is very consistent player.
Both yusuf and irfan deserve to play in the indian team. Srikanth and dhoni shud stop there unfair bias and politics. its a joke that inspite of having the pathan brothers, suresh raina, virat kohli....it is w.saha who gets a test debut. THIS IS JUST STUPID!!!!!
Ultimately it is proved that injustice is done to Pathan Brothers time and again.
Firstly, dropping Irfan from the Indian side, overlooking his recent memorable all-round performances, not only in ODIs but also in Tests and Secondly axing Yousuf Pathan from the ODI squad despite his natural ability to turn any situation in his teams favour.
If the selectors compare the number of chances given to other cricketers who in past and even in present cricket have given performances like the two Pathans it is not even 50 percent and this shows the extent of injustice done.
If it is the Rotation Policy and if the media says they are rested as in case of Yuvi, Sachin etc. in the recent past, their fans would never have felt sorry for them.
Anyway I strongly feel that both of them should be included in the Indian team and should be given ample number of chances at least till the end of the forthcoming 50-50 & 20-20 World Cups.
