saha is in the team to protect dhobi's buddy yuhi place in the team... if he succeeds then he will be dropped as he is a wicketkeeper... if he fails then he will be dropped anyway...the moment india will be playing against weak bowling attacks yuhi will recover all of sudden and be back in the team...until then likes of saha and sharmas and kartiks can have their chances... virat kohli wont get a chance coz chances are he will succeed and that will be end of yuhi's test career...
bhajji got until 2011 to be called indian bowling spearhead for his 2001 performance... after that it will be year to year basis... all he will have to do is give2/3 good performance a year like zeher khan to be called indian bowling spearhead... and if by any chance he gives another performance like 2001 then he can stay in team for another 10 years...
no one needs to b spared. esp ishant is much of hype. not in form. even mishra is performing bad. but above all bhajji being senior bolr shud bear the responsibility of failure.
saha may b a good keeper but not necessarily a good batsman. is it necessary that when a batsman is injured, then u hv to select batsman only. saha is not even regular batsman. v cud hv tried 5 bolr theory when v didnt hv 6th batsman. is it necessary that v shud play only with 4 bolrs. else v vl lose the match? such a defensive strategy. had there been one more bolr, who might hv taken some wkts. it cud hv been anybody like tyagi, or even ojha.
I completely agreed with the guys who commented on bhajji...he is doing only the talking these days..he hasn't taken 20 wkts in last 5 tests..and the bowlers weren't too good to make any kinda opportunities..lets be sure that the south african bowlers will not be short of creating more than 2-3 opportunitie and we don't have the experienced middle order...until Viru and Gauti comes up with something like 200 opening p'ship we are looking down the barrell already ...
Reading through this thread regarding selection for 16 and then 11, everyone is quick to suggest solutions. It is easy to play selector from your couch and retrospect is 20-20. Imagine if 3 bowlers were injured and had the selectors gone with another batsman, we would have damned them for being wrong again. Injuries are part and parcel of sport and replacements need to be encouraged, Saha was selected to replace Dhoni if the need be, he is replacing Laxman, I do not see the big deal. We are world #1 and we need to act that way whether it is the reserves or the main players who are on the field. The only worry India has currently is Harbhajan is not in form, he has been out of his strike capability for some time now, they need to address that if it does not improve in this test. Secondly, Ishant cannot be used as an aide for Zaheer to scramble the seam to get reverse swing going early for Zaheer; his delivery style was shocking but I'm sure he was advised to scramble the seam rather than try to swing it on his own or hit the deck hard.

but mate they had selected four pacers where everybody knows that we don't play with more than two bowlers in a home test! So they could have selected an extra batsman instead of a pacer. You too knew who is going to play among the bowlers. Saha was no good choise right from the start. Of course Kartik and Patel are much better choise ahead of Saha. Bhajji is not in form since a long time and they could have used Ojha instead! Really a poor selection!
